Need help choosing range colour, wall colour and tiles in kitchen
Comments (27)Update - alabaster painted oak units, oak worktop, (curved end units and worktop corners) belfast sink, 1100 stainless steel rangemaster porcelain large high gloss ivory 600x600 floor tiles, ivory grout - please see attached look book just still to decide on shade of sage on walls - deciding between F&B Mizzle, Vert De Terre, Ball Green and Cooking Apple Green... Also metro sub/way tiles on walls - whether to go for a sage tile or cream/white... The dining room area off the kitchen will have oak parquet floor which will follow through from hall and will also be in the lounge but Im thinking of following the wall colour in the kitchen through to the dining room for continuity and potentially painting the chimney brest or wall furthest away from and facing the kitchen a darker green complementary colour... Thoughts please...See MorePlease help with kitchen colours!
Comments (20)If its a dark room then reflective surfaces will help .. but maybe step back and look at the style before you introduce colour? The detail on the doors make it a bit dated for an ultra modern look, but a vivid color would change things up, where pastels and neutrals may feel a bit samey ! The granite top will cool anything down ... my suggestion is change the flooring and get the doors spray painted Red!...See MoreHealthy paint for kitchen walls? Help please
Comments (8)Even the usual paint brands have water based paints with low VOC’s which are better for us. Dulux Breatheasy is one. Avoid paints with high VOC’s, usually oil based. It will be printed on the tin - High is red symbol, medium is amber symbol and low is green. I do have asthma and allergies and I remember painting my front door in Farrow & Ball oil based outdoor paint and being very ill afterwards for days. Most of their paints are water based now so much better for our health. I find the wall paints are fine, but the water based woodwork paint is definitely not as tough as oil based, but then I have no choice....See Moreurgent help with kitchen wall colour please
Comments (11)Those tiles are stunning. Now I know you’ve got the paint, but I would have gone paler, simply because the tiles are so beautiful and I wouldn’t want to have anything that detracts from them. if It is too dark, you could always add some of the green to plain white paint and mix well. Make sure you mix enough for the whole area! I’ve done that before and it worked out well. Good luck!...See More- 8 years ago
