Please help with kitchen colours!
Comments (20)If its a dark room then reflective surfaces will help .. but maybe step back and look at the style before you introduce colour? The detail on the doors make it a bit dated for an ultra modern look, but a vivid color would change things up, where pastels and neutrals may feel a bit samey ! The granite top will cool anything down ... my suggestion is change the flooring and get the doors spray painted Red!...See MoreNeed help for open kitchen diner colours please?
Comments (11)Yeah I haven't thought about when the sideboard is in place, with it being white gloss with a silver trim I thought it will still look all the same colour though and still needs something to break it up. I didn't know with being a sliding door and then the patio door whether curtains or blinds would look right on them, I think like you have said I'll see how the area looks when it's a bit more filled with the sideboard and then I can always add curtains/ blinds if needed. i'm glad I've uploaded the other side of the kitchen as I now see it definitely clashes with styles but hadn't thought about it, It's only a small change but I bet it will help to work with the dining room. Thank You very much for all your advice :) A few more ideas for me to go on now, that I hadn't considered....See MoreHealthy paint for kitchen walls? Help please
Comments (8)Even the usual paint brands have water based paints with low VOC’s which are better for us. Dulux Breatheasy is one. Avoid paints with high VOC’s, usually oil based. It will be printed on the tin - High is red symbol, medium is amber symbol and low is green. I do have asthma and allergies and I remember painting my front door in Farrow & Ball oil based outdoor paint and being very ill afterwards for days. Most of their paints are water based now so much better for our health. I find the wall paints are fine, but the water based woodwork paint is definitely not as tough as oil based, but then I have no choice....See MoreHelp with open plan kitchen wall colour please as I’m struggling!
Comments (25)I would have poo poo’d this idea before as I’d wonder what the point was, but make your self a mood board using the colours roughly in the same ratios. Are you planning on having some artwork as this may be the lynchpin that helps it hang all together. Pulling colours through from that will help the scheme. Tonal can be soft and soothing but needs layering up with texture to create a cohesive scheme. Alternatively pops of bright colour can look amazing and your kitchen is lovely and bright with good bones. What is the rest of your house like, and what is your style?...See Moreduffy_shade
