Help please kitchen cupboard wrong colour choice!
Comments (26)French Grey is a lovely colour, I'd live with it for a while and the rug colour may be skewing it a little. I'd add a Roman blind to soften things, style it up a bit and see how you go. On the rug front - I think they are fine in a kitchen. Kitchens often had rugs but now it's frowned upon for some reason but they seem to be making a come-back I'm pleased to say as they add a lovely, comfortable homely feel. Find something washable, ideally a pattern, use underlay to anchor/stick it down if you're worried about slips and trips (depends on weight of rug). Size-wise, don't run it too close to units to avoid worst spills etc. The new synthetic indoor/outdoor rugs will work well or a washable cotton....See MoreDesperately need help with kitchen paint colours please
Comments (17)Liz, given the amount of natural light in that interior I would say Downpipe, but it wouldn't look like that in a darker interior. Little Greene Grey Teal 226 or Scree 227 look similar. I don't believe you can accurately colour match digitally, paints behave differently in different lighting conditions....See MoreHelp please. Kitchen wall colour
Comments (13)I would use Farrow and Ball slipper Satin looking at your room and the cupboard colours and the floor colour all round. Will give you warmth, will be more modern than what you have as has a grey in it (but a very warm grey, not strong at all, a creamy greeny light grey depending on time of day), and won’t be harsh like the 3 colours you chose, they are very very strong and you may regret it. I hate to be a spoilsport but everyone I know who wanted to be different and used a very dark wall or colour on a normal semi style house ended up regretting and repainting. Slipper satin will look just right in my opinion being both safe but dark enough. Unless you had windows on 2 sides I wouldn’t go dark anywhere. Also, keep the window areas whiter, not bright white (that has blue in it), just regular white. Just my humble opinion based on looking at hundreds of show homes (and still not being happy with any) lol......See MoreHelp with Kitchen colour please!
Comments (23)@colourhappy I took your advice and used Little Greene’s Light Bronze Green. And I LOVE it. I went even further and took Little Greene’s suggested palette, toning it with Ashes of Roses in the lounge area and China Clay replacing the stark white on the other walls. The overall effect is fabulous... colourful, dramatic, modern, cosy and yet still allowing enough light into the room. I just need a new blind in the kitchen and I’m finished, Thank you so much for the prompt !...See More- 10 years ago
