Hello Newton81, You're not alone... There are few of us who can afford what we really want .. So.. Given that you understand that replica means just that.. You are getting more or less what you pay for.. things can still be made well but not carry the "name" but it's true... Some replicas or copies are not made that well.. So it's wise to look around.. The other thing to consider too is that things are often priced because of the "name" So.. It's good to really look carefully and think on exactly what it is you're spending for.... Useful chair or the name! (yes beauty and design..) Sometimes a copy is as good as the real thing.. and if it means having more in the pocket, then even better... Who said a rolex had to be real! It's cool 2 b a copy! : ) ) Clients come with all manner of ideals and budgets.. big and small.. Hi There, Taking into consideration the general layout of the space I think that this room could serve well as a dual purpose room, converting it to a study with a play corner for the kids could allow you the opportunity to take care of your daily admin tasks while keeping an eye on the children and as they grow desk space could be made available where they can have their own work stations. Other more extensive options would include a side extension next to the kitchen which would allow you to open up the space more effectively and make use of natural light through the addition of skylights over the kitchen extension. This space could then become a family orientated living area while the front living room could be decreased in size or split in two to form a study and play room for the kids. A under stair storage space could also meet your requirements of a cloak and boot room... Didn't realise the "voting" was one thing only - might explain why "baking" rates so highly as I don't doubt that others went for that first, thinking they could "vote" for others afterwards! Ddddduuuuuhhhhhh. Anyway, we live in the kitchen as it's always warm thanks to an approx. 60-year old solid fuel AgA (runs on anthracite). We sleep in the bedroom, ablute in either the bathroom or shower-room and don't retire to the drawing room until we've lit the multi-fuel stove in there and then enjoy a pre-dinner drink and after dinner TV before going to bed. It may sound a little stuffy or old-fashioned, but that's just too bad. We like it. Oh and I nearly forgot: the dining room is for when we entertain to dinner/lunch only and the study is for.... you guessed it: studying (well, storing books, desktop PC, and as a 3rd spare bedroom if truth be told).

Our current chairs are from made.com and the round table from ikea, both all purchased as a temporary solution while we figure out our needs and find the right design. My budget is quite wide subject to the products being the perfect fit :) I really like Carl Hansen products but the downside with their tables is that the extension leaves need to be stored separately. We are open to buying new chairs and complementing them with the ones we have.
