Can you post some photos of your bathroom?

I have uploaded some pictures of the bathroom. You can see the walls are only partially tiled. The untiled walls are magnolia and I would like some ideas about bringing the look together of white wall tiles, untiled walls and floor tiles (maybe black or grey). I am trying to achieve a minimalist sophiscated look. Thanks for looking.

It definitely needs painting. A dark colour would be great. A dark grey would work well or even a dark statement wallpaper if you can find something suitable for bathrooms. I’d also be tempted to change the metal fittings (taps, etc ) to brass. I think you’d need to remove the mirrored cabinet & provide some other type of storage. I’d replace the current mirror with something over the top (ornate gilt frame) & add in some green plants - a large floor standing one if possible & maybe another on a shelf. The basin could do with replacing - a vanity unit would be better - but this may not be what you’re looking for at the moment. I think a wood-effect vinyl flooring would work well to add some warmth.

I'm going to be honest here. The bathroom looks out of a hospital because of the large white tiles...Adding some mosaic tiles on the untiled walls would definitely give the bathroom an upgrade. You can add them as a border. Something like the photos below.

Your bathroom is a nice base, but now you need to bring in some life to it. We suggest changing the bath panel and install pattern floor tiling. They come as vinyl as well. Then paint the walls in a shade to match the floor, wouldn’t go too dark here though. And instead of having two mirror, we think it’s better to just keep one and install some mirror lights, which will add some sparkle and coziness to the bathroom. A nice plant on the window shelf wouldn’t hurt either..;)

Loads of amazing ideas above from the experts. I'd definitely source a new towel radiator as that one really dates the room. I'd get a carpenter to make a wooden bath panel as the pic above as that too will help bring it up to date. You don't need the cabinet and a mirror, it takes up wall space. Change for one new cabinet and lose the mirror.

Love the idea of the mosaics and maybe you can do something to tie them in on the bit of wall that hasn't been tiled by the bath. The tiles should have gone the whole width of the wall at both ends really. Maybe you could have mosaics there also, or buy more white tiles and cover the gap.

If you want to save more money Fattyma, I'd go for a good lino on the floor, there really are some great one's about. Great to clean too and warmer underfoot. Easy to lay. carpet right ( black's )

would this look better than tiles?

Hi. You don't have any ideabooks set up so we don't know what styles you like. I don't normally go for shower curtains but I think I would go for quite a bold design. I like farrow and ball setting plaster for the walls (2nd pic) with white. I think the all white tiles make it looks a little cold so I'd try and add texture which could be a belly basket to hold toilet rolls, natural sponge and wooden loofah etc on the bath. I'd definitely add a plant. I don't think the mirror works against the window. Personally I'd go for a round brass one and it looks as if you may have room for tall slim storage on the wall door (ignore the one pictured, i just added an image of one I knew). Hammam towels are also lovely for texture and I agree a wood effect for the floor, be it porcelain or the much cheaper vinyl option

I think if you are in the market for saving money then you can get some great deals and really nice vinyl, plus you haven't got to pay a tiler, just a chap to come glue down your linoleum. I think it certainly has it's place in the market and it's come on in leaps and bounds from years ago. Have a look at carpetright, you may surprise yourself.

I can't tell what's on the floor at the moment?

I'm not a pro (but doing up our small bathroom). Replacing the chrome elements: taps, shower, toilet roll holder etc with black is very contemporary and looks dramatic with white but may be quite costly? Agree about the mirror / cabinet - one serving both purposes much slicker. Good luck!
