Hi @J Lo no we haven’t bothered (yet). Generally its been fine. There’s no escaping the fact the long feed does create a bit of unavoidable condensation but it’s nothing major and easily manageable with some workaround measures. I got some cooker hood filters and cut them to size to lay on top of the cooker hood to trap the grease and smells more. i also fold a piece of kitchen paper into a square and put that underneath the motor of the fan so if there are any drips through where the motor unit is screwed together (that is the main culprit!) its well absorbed. The filter lasts about 3 months before I change it. The kitchen paper I change every couple of weeks and just to stress its a tiny greasy drip each time that dries up. I just change it for cleanliness when I check it and wipe the side of the fans, as I would anyway even without that issue. The way I see it is it’s still a much better set up than relying on a recirculating hood that doesn’t take the smells or grease outside at all. So the very minor condensation issue is a small price to pay. I was a bit obsessed with it when I posted on here but don’t give it too much thought now… until you posted and reminded me haha! I would suggest though if you have the option you may as well do what you can now while the dirty work is going on for peace of mind. Whatever your builder says there will defnitely be a little condensation whatever the set up, unless you have a really powerful fan or the extra fan on the chimney - its just physics and gravity that can’t be avoided. Either way you want to get it sorted now in my view rather than later as you probably won’t get round to it, as has been the case with us. That said, like I say it’s not a major issue if you have the same results as us. Only thing a few people have said is that over time it will cause the fan to fail but I haven’t noticed any problems yet so all good so far touch wood

I like additional LEDs under the breakfast bar and above the cabinets. In open plan rooms this gives you more options to create ambience. I also had thoughts about the kitchen which I hope you accept in the spirit intended. You have tried to show the unfitted look by having the above sink cabinet not fitting side to side- you might decide to have the same feature at the end of the tall units and step out the cabinet in the corner instead of having a filler. You might check you like the look of a shelf under the wall cabinet- I worry this might be a little close to the sink and tap. Unless you are both over 6’ I think you might find the ovens too high- perhaps they should come down at least the height of a warming drawer. I love the waterfall edge on the island, you should check what the underside of the worktop material will look like...... they are rarely the same as the top. You have planned what looks like a 3m long Island, possibly to avoid a joint in the worktop. But the kitchen would suit a longer island- you do after all have a 1500mm space at the door end of the island. If you want to avoid joining a quartz consider seamless Corian or having two different worktop materials. You have planned what looks like 300mm wide larder units- you should check you are happy with the storage they offer- pull outs tend to work much better on 500 or 600 wide larders. You could elevate the look by adding thick contrast panels wrapped around the tall cabinets. You may prefer bronze mirror glass depending on the tone of the wood. You need to consider practical things such as if you are going to have a kettle and toaster. You may want to consider if you need additional integrated appliances such as a wine chiller or microwave. Basically I like what you have planned but I think you have slaved your design to symmetry and I think you can have balance without symmetry and that approach might help you have a bit more kitchen in this big room.

Hi Luke, We are looking at the S Pure at the moment. I have a question about maximum pan sizes on each cooking zone. It mentions the cooking zone sizes in the technical specs, but I’d like to know the maximum pan size can be used on each zone? Also, I assume the pan base can not go over the extractor at all? Thank you

It can be either, to have it re circulating a carbon filter would have to be added/fitted to the underneath of the motor as there isn't one fitted in the pics. If it is being used in re circulating mode you still need to allow the air to come out of the canopy back into the room with some ducting as this air is damp. The carbon filter helps remove cooking smells and they do need replacing with use.
