swimming pool design problem

I have a serious design problem with this pool. it was an overflow pool ..But the level of the ground surrounding was high compared to it so pool guy added 4cm marble with blocks underneath. But I don't like the look .. I need help please. how can this be solved ?

I agree with you it doesn't look good. why can't u raise the walls of the pool?

Hi. A solution to this might be to have the overflow drain from the side (between the mosaic wall and the underside of the marble) this is actually a really desirable aesthetic and if done correctly creates a shadow gap around the pool which gives the impression that the paving is floating like the image below

Hi. It looks great. I assume you're after feedback on the whole space? I have a few comments as a non-pro ie so what I'd do myself..l I wouldn't use brick for the waterfall as it looks a little old fashioned IMO. I'd also make it deeper to stand out. Are they bamboos? I may be temped to go for different plants or the rock/stone feature wall here as when they grow the waterfall will just be eclipsed by them or do a living ŵall design so the greenery starts at the bottom. I'd change the colour of the plinths. The bar and stools are great however I might have 3 of them or go for an iconic chair design to make them a bit different or do this at the other end if it's shallow with something like a le corbusier so you can sunbathe in the pool. I also like sitting with my legs in the pool when sat at a bar, if this isn't the idea then maybe something along these lines from Imactoy (clearly not the same design/size but easier to visualise than describe!). I might also make the decking darker but that's a personal thing. Finally I'd change the baize on the pool table for something a bit different, we have silvery grey with black which looks good. Sorry that's a lot of comments and probably all personal, as I said it looks great!

Yes planting and greenery can be a lovely addition in a pool house, there are some plants that thrive in that environment and others that dont do so well, but we have some very good gardeners that help with the selection and plant detail.

I can't believe that this would be intended to be left as is, and, that there will be capping stones going over the top or the inside of the pool level raised and finished to match the rest of it, thus covering the gap.

Lots of people tile the first 12" or so, so i'd ask the builder what the intention is. Did he not discuss your options for the finish?

The pool man was going to leave it like this. then he said could cover the blocks with mosaic tile. But I think the gap is too big and I don't like the blocks. so he said we can add extra marble and stick it underneath the present marble OR add 2 squares of the mosaic tile underneath the present marble , so the gap is less ,but I think I 'll still be able to see the blocks.

He said he will do 2 sample options so I can see after a few days so I 'll post a photo of both options and then see what the result is

That's awful, poor you. Hopefully he'll come up with something that you like. I'd probably go for the marble at the top as a border with no mosaic's. Our pool is now similar and I prefer it to the one we had with mosaics, it looks sleeker if that makes sense.

The man added another piece of marble to try and make the gap a bit smaller. what do you think now ? does it need to be smaller or is it ok like this ? Or is there anything else I can do to make it better ?

Do you think the marble blocks inside need to be covered with mosaic tile ? So it looks like the same colour as the pool tiles so it blends in ?

It definitely looks a lot better, not sure about the tiles, you could be right, as there are already some in there, if you cover the blocks then it would blend in better.

I'd probably go for the mosaics on the blocks. Good luck

Do you think the gap should be thinner (make the extra marble thicker )?; at moment the extra piece is 4cm.
