TINY Bathroom need help!
Comments (16)Hello Tom, There are many Bathrooms out there that are smaller than yours. You are right, you could definitely add something to it, redesign it and make it look bigger. Everything is possible! If I was you I would not remove the bath. Just as others said some people may feel more attracted to have a bath and not a shower only. After all you can still ad a showered and have 2 in 1. When you add a mirror and pick light colours you can definitely make your Bathroom look more spacious. Light installation is also a great idea to make your space look bigger. Have you considered changing the layout for your Bathroom? Good luck with your Project!...See MoreLayout options for my tiny living room
Comments (8)Hi Emma. Do all the kids live with you full time? I'm wondering if you could have the tv hung just over a sideboard on that ŵall where the key chest is atm. You could have 2 small upholstered chairs either side of the sideboard which could be moved when needed to watch tv. I'd do away with the White chest and use the sideboard for storage plus the sky and xbox. Pop a couple of table lamps either side of the TV for a cosy feel plus they would also hide the cables from a side view. Put the tv on a tilting bracket for when needed. I'd look for slim sofas as yours seem quite deep. Maybe go for a much lighter colour and add colour with lamp shades, cushion etc. Before you buy, draw literally everything out on paper/card templates so you can see how they'd work. I love your hearth and I know it's a crime to suggest it but it does intrude on the space so wonder what it would look painted in a stone colour to blend with the carpet. Again would try it on paper first! It looks a lovely room though!...See MoreTiny bathroom design - Help!
Comments (21)I would still suggest tanking/waterproofing the room prior to the installation of a standard shower tray or bath. Waterproofing membranes with the European Technical Approval will withstand normal movement within a house but the flooring and walls need to be of sound construction - a wetroom can be properly fitted in age of building. These principles apply to a standard tray or bath as the silicone beading around the edge may fail (from movement/age) and let wall bypass the tray, causing damage to the building underneath. This picture was taking after a bath with wall mounted shower was removed. The silicone had failed causing the wood to rot. This was all replaced and the below was created in its place: A bath will be easier for people with young children and if you plan to sell on, a wetroom will appeal to some where a bath will appeal more to others. Which ever path you choose (both your designs look nice) I would recommend waterproofing the room before it is installed. Kind Regards Mike...See MoreTiny living room, help with layout!
Comments (6)You could have a small table by the stairs then you'd block the cupboard. It's definitely not a small room but it looks a little tricky! I'd also go for a rectangular table by the window. I don't know how low the window is but I'd have a bench or banquette seat against the window wall if possible. Clear acrylic chairs i.e. Eames or ghost would be great on the other side to give a feeling of space. Zone the dining area with a piece of art against the wall and a light if possible. Sofa where MATH said. Depending on tv size it might be too high to go above the fire, if you put it to the left you may need to wall mount it and use a magic eye for sky etc otherwise you'd be blocking the stairs. For a coffee table I'd use either a slim glass or an upholstered footstool as they don't visually feel the space. You can add a little cabinet with lamp next to the sofa and zone the seating area with a rug. I'd also add a console where Jen said or a slim cabinet for storage. Do you have a pics of the room specifically fire and stairs to see if the tv would work there? I'd mark everything out on the floor buying buying anyway :)...See Morestephfallon
