Help!!! Off-white hex floor tiles clash with white wall tiles/plumbing
Comments (39)Jonathandb1972, I was thinking of going with a grout that is the same colour or lighter than the grey tile. The hex will be grouted in a medium grey. This has already been done in the loo (the hex) and looks great. Neither are grouted in the above picture. Do you think there will still be issues with where the grout lines are if they are the same or lighter than the tile? Also, where the hex tile in the shower meets the grey tile will mainly be covered by the shower's profile. However, the shower only goes up to about 2m, so there will still be a visible "meeting" of tiles above that. My builder is a little concerned about how this will look as he will have to cut small pieces of tile to fill up the edge, which may stain once they start grouting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best......See MoreNew spashback queries
Comments (5)Hi, Is the back splash glass or large tiles? I know that you can buy metal caps to hide the gaps for this, so I presume that you can also use them for glass?...See MoreAdvice pls, to tile entire floor or just 10 cm behind the plinths??
Comments (8)Normally I‘d say don’t bother where you can’t see as long as something supports dishwasher or washing machine in case you need to drag it out for repairs. Just enough under the plinth to give the effect of tiling all over. However, we swapped our kitchen almost 2 years ago and wanted things in a different position as we wanted a tall bank of unit and the sink moving. We had to think how far we’d gone with the floor tiles. Thankfully where the sink originally was we had tiled all the way to the wall which was good as that area is now fully exposed. Just something to bear in mind. Be certain that you won’t want to swap things around in the future....See MoreHelp with a tiling query please!
Comments (11)Thanks for all your comments. I have gone with an unfinished edge like Rukmini's pictures (sorry Sonia :D) as I think it will just look a bit more interesting especially against a dark navy wall. I have tiled around the window but not into the window recess. I'm pleased with how it looks so far - will try to remember to post a pic of the finished room!...See More- 7 years ago
