I would just cut the bottom tiles, it's common to have your cuts on the bottom and your full tile at the top. You could also consider an up stand instead, less tiling and cutting. You could even consider acrylic cut to size in a colour of your choice and make a feature of it, it may look nicer than a half tile.

Are you planning to cut the unit down on the right? I presume it's a slightly taller than average unit, which is why the work top ended up a little higher than you want.

We're tall and hate our work tops 890mn , we're stuck with our kitchen now, but in future would have higher ones. Our Utility is much higher as we have American Machines, perfect.

I looked at the anti-vibration pads, but the thickest i could find was 20mm, they do make life difficult if you need to repair the washing machines / plumbing as they make it twice as hard to get the machines out.

I'm not sure that making the gap smaller at the top will help all that much any way, as the whole sink unit isn't deep enough to cover the front. If the whole thing was brought forward it would look better.

I wouldn’t lower the worktops at all. Just leave it as it is as it’s a utility room, seems an awful lot of faff to reduce that little gap. Yes you have a bit of a gap but no big deal, or am I missing something here?

Haven't used these but maybe this could do the trick. And make it easy to get the appliance out to clean or maintain. 38mm tall.
