I haven't yet owned a Miele appliance, although I have used other people's and know that they are top quality. So I would love my first dishwasher to be a Miele and maybe this would convince my partner that having a dishwasher is an improvement on washing dishes by hand.

We have engineered wood all the way through our house and I don't regret it. We get the odd scratch but overall its ok. It also looks lovely and is natural. Ours is a pale smooth matt finished oak, so probably the most likely to show up marks. I agree with FloorMonster and get something brushed? We also got loads of samples from Natural Flooring as they had some really nice finishes that would be able to take the wear of the bike and the dogs. Something like the brushed engineered wood in the second picture down? Hi all, Thank you so much for all the helpful comments and suggestions, and sorry that it's taken me so long to respond - house renovation and work have been keeping us on our toes! This has become a long post, so a quick reminder - we were looking to renovate and rewire our 60s house to update it and also make it more wheelchair friendly downstairs for when my mother-in-law comes to visit. We employed an architect and came up with what turned out to be an 'aspirational' design (much more than the budget!) so we ended up deciding to split things into two stages: Stage One to add a downstairs wetroom for accessibility, remove chimney throughout and add a porch Stage Two to do the extension across the rear, removing the conservatory to open out a large kitchen/diner and add a utility room The layout below shows both Stages One and Two as complete. Bits shown in red are existing walls which have been/will be removed (apart from the wall in red in the seating area below which is between the existing kitchen and dining room - that's a mistake). So.....the building work is now done - hurray! Stage One is complete, we are much poorer, and we now need to decorate the whole house :-) Some before and after photos below - please bear with the terrible photography skills. The rooms aren't big enough to allow for expansive photos!: We've re-plastered throughout, apart from in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom, as we'll deal with those later. Current challenge is deciding how on earth to pick paint colours and flooring throughout.... Anyway - hopefully that gives you a sense of where we've got to. Best wishes

Hi, I'm certain retailer would like to get paid as much as you would like to have £2.5k worth of flooring to your satisfaction. In contrast to what few imply that you have been "ripped-off", you have entered the contract to which at the time you believed to be value for money. What level of service have you been sold is another matter and it sounds there is some sort of miscommunication on how and with what products flooring should be finished around perimeter. Manufacturer states for expansion gap to be necessary requirement and before taking your order, estimator/salesperson should have explained all the options available. Beading or any type of moulding would not work against bifold door frame, and simplest option would be Premier Trim Little Lip from "StairRods". It's available in various surface finishes. As far as regarding "floor movement", floor should move under foot but only very slightly, as its "Floating Click". If there is excessive movement, that would most likely be inadequate subfloor preparation (if any was applied). As with any LVT products, due to lack of mass (weight), absolutely crucial and most important job is to prepare subfloor. Again, it goes down to what you have been sold by the retailer. I'm sure you can get someone to talk sense and resolve it amicably, and if not you first port of call should be "Karndean". If retailer is authorised "Karndean" installer, they will take it on board to rectify any issues offering retailer to correct it or organise for Master Installer to attend. All the best.
