herringbone tiles

Hi if I want to lay subway tiles on the floor and up one focal wall of my bathroom in herringbone pattern and the tiles are 3”x18” in size is that too long of a tile to achieve the look? Trying to incision how it will look but having trouble ..

Can you lay out a few sample tiles to seethe pattern. Or cut construction paper to makea mock up.

It will be herringbone pattern of the top two rows of subways in the picture attached in 3x18 size tiles.other bathroom walls just white polished tiles stacked in 12x24 with white grout to keep it clean and just the grey floor and singular wall as the focal. I guess my two questions are 1. Is 3x18 a good size to achieve the look I’m going for and 2. Being that the grey tiles are not solid but several shades of grey and some white marbleizing should the grout be white or grey? And if grey which shade.. darker or lighter? I felt like the tile is so busy I don’t need a contrasting white grout there’s enough going on already .. I matched up a grout to the darker grey color for now but I’m wondering if that was the correct thing to do ...

Muted tartans and plaids. Subtle, with historic precedence, or at least an updated pattern with a nod to the "original". Younger people, in particular, are longing for a sense of history and nostalgia in their design, albeit with an irreverent streak!

Hi there, do you have any images or a rough layout of what you currently have? Everything you have asked for is do able its just looking at space for a concealed cistern/frame for the w/c and what need moving/stud work needs to be incorporated. If you can send some over i'd be happy to have a look and give you rough estimate (will just help you with final decisions).

Hi. Sorry I thought you were going for the gold grout in the photo :) I personally prefer the white grout in the first 2 pics but I think the light grey also works. If you wanted white grout have you looked at epoxy resin grout? We removed inherited tiles that were over 20 years old in our kitchen and the grout was spotless so I assume that's what they used. great that you can lay the tiles yourself, does that include the herringbone? Why not get a sample to see how the white compares to the encaustic as presumably that will be an off white? The brass sounds lovely and I agree with Rinq if you can add some wood as teal and white can be a cold combination but looks lovely in the 2nd pic

I would do the herring bone pattern on either the floor or the wall but not both. Why do you want one gray wall? Is it to be the back splash?

I would use light gray grout.

I would not use the stacked pattern with the herring bone floor.

What are the other materials you intend to use?
