Wet room panels are ideal as they help the water stay within a space. You don't want water spraying everywhere especially if your having wooden furniture. This can cause the wood to blow as water always finds a way to get everywhere. Plus it will save time on cleaning when you get out.

Hi there, By the dimensions and drawings shown here, you are right to point out comfort and practicality when using this space. The current location of the toilet I'm afraid is particularly not realistic in 950mm tall height restriction. This may help! Working backwards in terms of height and usage - 1. The toilet should be positioned on a side wall (as I appreciate you wouldn't want it against the bedroom wall). There is a minimum height you can calculate by adding the sitting height of your husband by the average height of a WC seat (approx 500mm) and allowing a clearance of 300-500mm above head height). You might find you are looking at a height of roughly 1.7m. 2. For the shower and basin, these have to be positioned either against your bedroom wall or as close as you can to it on an adjacent wall. 3. That leaves your bathtub which can be positioned to the rear of the room if there is no space left against the bedroom wall or adjacent walls. In this instance, it will likely be free-standing and pushed away from the rear wall in order to be practical to use. Thanks Sarah, yes I think this would look nice because hopefully it would match the new stairs and I am presuming the rest of the house below having had a quick look under the carpets so would flow into this (we hope to try and use the old floorboards in lower house if possible). Maybe a carpet runner on the stairs below, not sure on the loft stairs yet because it will be open plan.....Anyway our builder (who is also family) is a bit anti floorboards on the loft floor due to difficulty putting down compared to engineered flooring so I would need to go back to him and see what he thinks. Also I am a bit concerned about cost and wear and tear compared to engineered but it must be cheaper than hardwood at least? TIA x

You have such a great space! It depends what kind of style you like, but the current modern trend for many of our projects is to use a full width slightly protruding headboard which is 600mm higher than the top of the matters height. Behind this a warm 3000K LED strip light is installed to light up the wall above with an indirect light. the picture below is a good precedent. www.dorarch.com
