Advice on copper kitchen taps

I am thinking of having copper door furniture and taps in our new kitchen but wondered if there are any pros and cons I should consider - I haven't seen anything on line.

Door furniture you’ll be fine but personally I’d be wary of it on taps if you’re in a hard water area as limescale might collect around the spout.

Lots of manufacturers have copper coloured finishes in their range so you will likely be able to find one you like. It probably is coloured aluminium as copper will turn blue.
As far as limescale goes I think you have that potential in any tap regardless of finish.

Hello dbferdi, There are a few links that you could take a look at to see if there are any that you like..... Crosswater's Totti range looks similar and has various options which might suit you. I have a similar bath and have used a bath filler which combines with the overflow and then have hot and cold panel valves mounted on the corner near the wall on the curved end of the bath. The advantage of this is that the plumbing is accessible by taking the bath panel off, should you wish to replace the valves etc. There isn't a Totti panel valve but as these are low profile I think you could get away with using a round panel valve.

Hi Carol, Blanco Silgranit is an excellent product, as is the Franke equivalent. We are also fns of the Caple equivalents, and all are backed up with robust guarantees. I cannot speak of other, cheaper brands, but we have heard that some of them are more prone to both staining and wear, particularly in the white or light colours. With the Franke, Blanco & Caple products, these are essentially non-porous and any slight staining tends to be surface only and can be cleaned in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. The darker colours & sandy tones are pretty good for not showing up marks. Hope this helps!

Jonathan is spot on when it comes to limescale issues, however there are some great manufacturers out there that do a copper product.

I came across this company at the Clerkenwell Design Week recently and loved their products - https://www.thewatermarkcollection.eu/

It should be noted that they lacquer their copper products which means that the finished is maintained with no issue relating to corrosion or oxidisation.
