Can't work out kitchen layout, help please.
Comments (8)Hi Dave, What a lot of doors but not a problem. I would keep the walkway between the doors clear if you do decide to go for an island but there might not be space. I would put your tall storage on the long wall because this will be out of the way of people walking through to the garden. If you're able to make the hallway door slightly narrower to get the 600mm width on the currently 550mm door then thats fabulous, if not, you could go for a breakfront (set back the first cupboard then pull out out the centre ones) or go for a freestanding tall block. All depends on the look you're going for. Then I would put a seating area by the window and use the rest for prep space, sink and hob. If you want to bounce some ideas around together in a no obligation zoom chat, feel free to get in touch www.thekitchenladyuk.co.uk Good luck Emily...See MoreNew kitchen layout help
Comments (3)Fabulous ideas from both Amuri Interiors and Interior Workings. I agree having a pot filler and stove on the island is so much more convenient especially when you want to avoid moving around too much (which can sometimes get a bit messy too). Depending on budget, I would recommend getting a more powerful (and less noisy) extractor fan for the island. With this change, the original stove location can be additional counter top space for use especially when putting things in / taking things out of the adjacent oven / grill / microwave....See MoreKitchen layout help - how far is too far between appliances?
Comments (4)I can see why you've designed it like that as it'll be lovely and simple to look at. For me the walking so much woud be too annoying though, so I'd choose function over beauty and put the sink (or hob) on the island - and turn the island round so it's parallel with the run of kitchen. Get the hob (or sink) plus fridge plus larder unit on one long run. Opposite tall units can be freezer, ovens and extra larder space. And I'd look for a round dining table to fit in the bay window area - something extrendable for larger dinner parties. Or a long skinny table on the other side of the island and keep all of the kitchen on the back wall and island only - would need to check dimensions of table and chairs to see where they would fit best, maybe an upholstered corner bench situation in the bottom right corner would be nice?...See MoreKitchen layout help!
Comments (0)Hello everyone. Have been trying to think of different ideas on how to make the downstairs of our house (we're in a townhouse) a more sociable space. Unsure of whether to just redesign our kitchen or start knocking walls through to open it all up. Would appreciate some fresh eyes to see if there are any options we haven't thought of! Have uploaded a photo of our current floor plan. Thanks in advance for any inspiration 😊...See More- 7 years ago
