I love the colour combination as well, could you opt for a floor standing drawer/open shelf unit next to the basin, i agree maybe over the towel rail would be a bit much and you wouldn't be able to store alot.

Thanks for your comments. After putting my pictures up in the bathroom I decided to not add a shelf unit as I thought it may be too much.

I added some pics today to a different area of the bathroom and now decided a shelf would be too much. Pics show the finished bathroom which I am really pleased with although the kids are moaning as we only have a small mirror.

E D there's a lot of us women who have collections of hundreds of little pots and bottles with magical ingredients we can't do without............It's a girl thing, that you boys just simply don't understand!

Looks great as is tbh, I made a unit similar you yours for my bathroom recently and I think if you put a shelf up it would detract from the sleeker look you have

I don’t think you need a shelf at all, my only thing I don’t like is the cluttered showers gels etc - are they hooked on the glass? I would definitely change for shelves on the tiles

Darren all of the bathroom suite was purchased from Victoria Plum. The units are the Derwent range.

I agree about the shower gels etc. If I had my way I would not have them on display at all. Having 5 people in the house who all seem to like different products makes it difficult. I wanted to buy the reusable bottles as in the pic attached but I would need too many. I may start collecting a few at a time. I think they look much better on display rather than lots of different bottles.

I have the wire basket on the door as I have always found the ones fixed to the tiles makes your tiles go mouldy.

Hi Beckie thanks for replying. Totally get you with having 5 people, it’s bad enough just 2 in my house. I wouldn’t be afraid of putting them on the tiles instead, I spray mine with bleach occasionally and it’s easy to DIY a bit of fresh grout every couple of years.

I think it would be really nice to see through the lovely glass and look at the chrome shower etc.

I want to replace my pedalstal sink with a vanity unit like yours but I was also going to replace the toilet with a concealed vanity style however lots of people don’t bother with that. Did you think about a concealed toilet cistern in the same range?

Previously we had units all along the wall under the window and this included a concealed toilet cistern. I felt that it made the room feel smaller. I think if I had gone for a concealed cistern again I would of gone with units all along the wall as I think this would of looked better but would of cost more money and we were on a tight budget and as I said I felt it made the room look smaller. I did consider a bath and separate shower as neighbours have but decided on a walk in shower as we don’t really have time for a bath and thought it would become very cluttered.

I agree about seeing through the glass and will consider baskets to go in the wall when I go shopping next.

To get a larger mirror I’d hang one from above the window, it will block a little light but be much more functional.
