Internal doors help

New kitchen/diner space created, new doorway into room too. It's an angled doorway, like the living room.

See pics for existing internal doors, which will remain.

I am looking for new door for kitchen and will get matching door for living too. Not sure what style.

House dated 1939.
Dark charcoal shaker kitchen units, all white walls, sliding doors to garden.
We will have view from front entrance right out to back, so thought of part glass doors?

Any suggestions welcome

The 15 pane glass door is current door into living room, which we would like to match door into kitchen, both angled doorways opposite each other in the hallway.

If you can afford it, crittall doors would look great. I wanted a crittall but couldn't afford it so I bought a cheap glass pane door and painted it black and used black handle/hinges. something similar to your existing glazed door but maybe less panes so a little more modern. here is mine...

Hello. Those doors are beautiful and do not need glass that will block your view and compete for attention. My suggestion is to have clear glass. If you can find old style antiqued glass, or handmade glass that would be my vote. Otherwise just use plain glass. The key is the view through the doors (both ways). The doors will function as a frame so arrange furniture accordingly. I suggest new long curtains that hang closer to the ceiling. A beautiful neutral linen, or something that excites you. If you hang a vibrant or patterned curtain then your black sofa (is it a chair?) will not dominate the view through the doors. If you elect for a neutral curtain, then you may want to relocate the black sofa in favour of a more neutral piece. Beautiful home, what we can see of it. Good luck!

For anyone else reading this thread, you can now get aluminium internal sliding doors either frame or surface fixed. These come fully glazed, in the steel look and even as frameless glass sliding doors. Happy to help with product advice and suppliers if you'd like to get in touch. Hope this helps Kind regards, Nick

I imagine changing that many doors will be costly, so how about having some fun with your current doors first? Leave aside your 'changing door budget' for a few months - no doubt you've had a million decisions to make during this renovation. I'd suggest you paint each one a different colour ( send guests to the blue loo?) Or add wallpaper/ decals to make them look handmade. Easy has some inexpensive designs which would change the look, maybe even making a door disappear. Good luck with it - unleash your inner art gallery.

How about this shaker door from Howdens? I think painted white, black or grey it would go nicely with your kitchen and period of your home. I do rather like Danielle’s door too.
