Need help with kitchen (re) design please
Comments (0)Looking for design advice and help with 3D rendering of the design please. Happy to pay for the consultation. This is a new kitchen, done as part of a full refurbishment. Due to some structural issues elsewhere in the house, the initial layout was a compromise. But, now the structural changes situation has changed allowing for hopefully a better kitchen design. Have posted earlier on here and received some great advice. So, we are having one last go at getting the kitchen design right. Hopefully, you all can help me achieve this :-) Below is a picture of the kitchen and the measurements, with the following change : the vertical radiator and the door next to it is now gone. So, its a long wall there.. Also, Hob run has to stay as it is. Hob and oven don't have to be close as we don't use the oven much for cooking. Here is our working (re) design: [Its not set in stone, so, please feel free to comment :-) ] - Move the tall units to left wall (i.e, to 1 in the diagram) -3,4,5 : Long run of base units with worktop , sink in the middle, dishwasher to the left of the sink. and 7,8,9: shallow half height wall units; with glass splash back. The corner bases of 5 and possibly also 3 will be unusable. That is okay. Not sure : 7,9 : fill with the same half height wall units as 8 or use open shelving for 4 and 5 and use half height wall units for 6? Thank you all...See MoreFridge next to oven?
Comments (5)Thanks Tamp75, we originally had a 300mm tall cupboard separating the two but we had to change our design last minute because we need to make some room for a WC on the other side of the wall so need to take some space from kitchen. On paper we did have enough room but now the ceiling has been taken down, one of the ceiling joists will be sitting right on the edge of a wall that we were going to remove to make room for the WC - complicated. It’s too late to re-jig everything around so that is my only option. Hopefully ok....See MoreHelp on various kitchen decisions before ordering next week!
Comments (19)Thanks everyone for your helpful comments - GJ Dee thanks for your compliments we love the handles too! I think we will stick with one large sink, our old kitchen had a 35cm wide sink and no small sink, it was fine but when we needed to wash up our large saucepan which couldn’t go in the dishwasher it was a nightmare because it didn’t fit! Black sink would be nice but would be concerned about limescale as we do get quite a bit! Possibly we might be able to make the sink unit 800mm then can have a big sink then a little sink - will have to check if it fits as we still need a decent amount of circulation room around the island. MATH - I love that splashback! Do you mean have the brass directly behind the hob and then the rest of the wall tiles? I suppose if we use a lighter grout if the tiles are not directly behind the hob it is less likely to get mucky. We were originally going for just brass for the handles as don’t want to overdo the whole brass thing but will have a think about it! Watermark - omg your taps are beautiful! I think we are set on a cheap basic tap for the kitchen but looking for some nice brass taps for the bathroom so will send an enquiry through!...See MoreSingle ovens next to each other...but not under hob...
Comments (10)If it’s ‘slightly different from the norm’ - you’ll probably find detailed drawings will convey to your installer exactly what you want . That way they can’t do it their own way and you just have to live with it ! We draw things as people want them ( as long as it’s safe and legal !!) if you are interested in working on this one to one with a designer ( we don’t sell products - so you shop around with your one plan ) just click on my name or icon to find out more on my Houzz pro page....See More- 6 years ago
