May be worth looking at this company. I have an Ikea kitchen, it saved me a fortune. The carcasses are very roomy, I like the fact they are much lower to the floor. The only issue I found (apart from the ordering etc) was that the unit for the dishwasher means you need to use an Ikea dishwasher only, you can't substitute it with a John Lewis (or similar) one. As the carcasses are deeper you need non standard worktops.

I agree with what minipie has said, we paid the same to our fitter as the Ikea units cost. Worth it though, he was a star.

Ikea sell non standard sizes therefore in a few years time if you want to replace doors only (keep carcases) you’ll have to find a company who offer made to measure sizes. They do exist. Personally I’d steer clear and find a company who offer standard sizes thinking of any future changes.

Our new kitchen was Ikea and we spray painted the Ikea doors with F&B. Our builders customised the kick boards and made tailor made tongue & groove end panels and infills. As colourhappy says you get such a lot of space in the cabinets, not to mention some nifty in-built storage options, to make the most of the space. A lot of folks are sniffy about Ikea kitchens, but I think they're long lasting and good value.

The money we saved on the cabinets & doors, we put towards Corian worktops and Neff & Fisher & Paykell appliances and a Quooker tap.

If the objective is to save money then having bespoke doors won’t deliver that. You are going to get a cheaper kitchen by using a builders merchants kitchen.
If you want to personalise it you could consider upgrading the worktop, handles or appliances
