Thank you all for taking the time to reply to me. I've decided to get a runner, feel that's going to be best with the 3 kids running about. I'm eyes are sore looking at all the different kinds of runners so I ended up phoning the carpet man and getting him to make me a runner from same carpet that Im getting everywhere else so it's all matching. When he sends it away to get it binded, it will be done with orange thread, think this will give me a pop of colour against the grey carpet and be a little different. Takes a few weeks for it to come back but as soon as it's done and in, I will post a picture for you'd. Thanks again for your input and helping me make my mind up.

I can't think why leather floors would be a good idea, so i read up on it and found this interesting article. It seems, that as you would expect, you are up the S*** Creek without a paddle as they say as soon as you scrape them, scratch them or spill anything on them. Therefore, unless you covered the whole lot in boat varnish, supposing it would stick in the first place and change the durability, they aren't a good idea. Leather Flooring I'd stick to engineered flooring with sound board underneath x

I use hair shampoo (as long as it's clear liquid!) I found this out when my friend placed a mug of tea on the floor for me without saying so (I know!) and I knocked it over and spilt it all over her cream carpet. No carpet cleaner so grabbed clear hair shampoo and it was amazing. No stain at all phew!

Having bought my house almost three years ago after it was empty for ten years, I have a few things to do. Before I bought the place it had had squatters in a while before, they had removed the windows, plumbing fittings and anything else that wasn't nailed in place. I retired last May and moved in permanently having replaced the windows and plumbing on visits. The house is liveable but needs; The patio rebuilding at a lower level than the internal floors. Driveway repairs. Finalise the plan for the wiring, I have a good sized solar installation but the house wiring is not as good as you expect in a reasonable sized caravan. Strip and re-render all of the outside. Fit T&G throughout the kitchen. Restore the guest house but not this year. Make new gates for the entrance. Plough the gardens Finish my workshop which is key to doing a lot of the other work. There is more but of less urgency, I bought this house to avoid being retired and bored, it's definitely working.
