When is your flooring going down? Is your kitchen in? If you have pics of the bigger space that would help?

We have karndeam country oak in new kitchen, it's lovely

It’s going in in 4 weeks time. We were contemplating a parque flooring but think the rooms sizes are too small.

I love your chosen Karndean floor. It will create a lovely warmth to the room. I think a pale worktop would go really nice. I’m not sure what your budget is but Quartz is lovely and tough. It comes in many shades but perhaps off white with a little marbling in it? If budget doesn’t allow for Quartz then there are man made worktops that look like stone. As far as tiling goes, there is such a huge range of options now from basic metro tiles, to geometric and patterned ones, just depends on your preferred style. These are a few tiling ideas

Thank you so much for your ideas. I’m not so much looking at the design of tiles as yet, but just colour matching with the cupboards and walls - that’s what I’m struggling with at the moment! I agree I think a pale worktop would go well.

I was about to say..... the bit of floor in your pic looks nothing like van Gogh country oak, it does have warm and grey tones in it

You need to get a showroom with huge slabs of it made up, take them home and put against your units. That's what we done. My favourites online were not good match to my units. One plank is not enough, you might have a plank that has no knots, no grey..... you need around a square metre of floor in your space to see what works. ... that's what we done anyway!

I’ll try that then! I agree - one sample just isn’t enough to make a decision!
