I've just been looking. Awesome. My last house was a victorian reno. We had an old scullery and it hadnt been touched since the 60s was amazing what we found. But your house is simply divine. We have similar taste so trusting you even more now on my exterior paint job. This house has been everything i dreamed of so far. Will send you all the interior shots when we have the fish in the wall! Yep we have a 6 foot fishtank in the wall!

Hi Ryan, You may need to consult your local planning authority if you are going to change the colour/material of the exterior of the house. However, if you are only painting/applying the same material then you won't need permission. If going for a render, we'd suggest having a look at K-Rend's silicone renders - http://www.k-rend.co.uk/

That colour was f&b stony ground which is actually red based but I think must have some green in, I thought it would work with the terracotta tiles. Something like the lighter shaded white may also work although colours are normally a couple of shades lighter on the exterior. The previous owners of our house painted it farrows cream, I swear it gets more yellow each day! I don’t know anything about the render tbh but I don’t think it needs any maintenance for 20-30 years hence the initial application cost is dearer. I’ve attached this link as I’ve come across a few similar comments (but as I say I don’t know anything about the render and you’re always going to get negative reviews of things). Thank you Colorhappy, I was secretly hoping you would comment as you clearly know all about colour, something I definitely struggle with a little. I think your suggestion of a stone colour for the render and a green blue for the doors would look lovely, and I love the idea of it relating to the greenery in the garden. Do you have any suggestions for a stone colour? I have looked at F&B for the green/blue, they have a paint actually named green/blue, but I am not sure if this is too much of a literal interpretation of your advice :-) I also like the oval room blue too, do you think this could work? I love Stiffkey blue, but not sure if this is too rich/deep a colour and would end up looking dark? The front of the house faces north but still gets lots of great light, the house is elevated somewhat so it is never in shadow if that makes any difference to our choice of colour?
