I'm sorry to say that you would be throwing good money after bad. The type of extractor you've linked to is a bathroom model. These gently extractor moist air over a period of time. technically it extracts 220m3 per hour. Even the most basic 'cheap' cooking extractors will deal with 3 times that volume and good ones will extract 6 or 7 times that volume. In real terms that would mean you need between 4 to 7 of those extractors to do the job of what a single dedicated cooking extractor could achieve. When it comes to dealing with greasy smoke filled air, then the difference between a simple ceiling extractor and a dedicated cooking extractor is the difference between a gentle streaming brook and the grand canyon.

We have a ceiling mounted extractor in a very large room and it works really well. We ended up with a Brittania BEST extractor (bought from John Lewis) simply because we have a structural steel running above and the position of the internal ducting fit best with that model, though it's a bit bigger than we ideally wanted. The slightly lowered section of ceiling around the extractor is also because of the steel and wouldn't otherwise have been needed. A family member has the pop up option and that has been a bit of a hassle - it's not that powerful and ends up getting dirty from cooking every time.

Yes, we have! Got a fancy Neff induction hob and with the integrated extractor with a recirc set-up and then an externally venting extractor up on the ceiling neatly tucked away. This got us the coveted building regs sign off and works for us. The (isolator) switch for the fan is at worktop level so easy to whack on when you’re cooking up a storm and want some extra extraction. But tbh we haven’t used ours much, the in-hob one is fine! The extractor is white and really low-profile so it blends into the ceiling, plus it’s closed until you switch it on, so no unsightly venty parts on display day-to-day Let me know if you’d like to see pics...
