Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Shelves for a bathroom

We have a bit of gap above our toilet and it seems like some shelves would be good for storage.

What would recommend to go there? We have white tiles on the wall. and the space isn't particularly wide (about 50cm), so there may be some restrictions.

We also have an access panel to the left, so it would be good to keep that accessible somehow. because of that I've thought of a hanging rope shelf - does anyone have these and can recommend them?

Example of the shelves I was thinking about. It must be hard to keep these balanced??

I don’t have one but I really like it, so cute! It’s seems there are knots under each shelf so it shouldn’t be too wobbly. In all honesty though, does your bathroom need it? You already have lots of lovely things in it especially the plants, but if you are a maximalist, go for it!

Nice idea, you could also put a picture up using command strips if you don’t need the storage. Those shelves are really only for displaying objets rather than toilet cleaner anyway.

Hi - hope this isn't too late - ie if the soil pipe is already in ? But wanted to suggest this instead - there's open shelving for towels - tall cabinet for laundry and other stuff - drawer stack - under basin cabinet x 2.and another drawer stack - then folding shower door on bath with heated towel rail within grasp of shower - then loo ! Might offer more storage for all the kids clutter - and if there's only two of them - they have a basin each !!

Hiya, What a lovely space you've created - you must be so pleased! A little bit of advice for your blind - Fauxwood is a perfect material for a bathroom as it's easy to wipe clean and won't warp in steamy conditions. And to get the shutter look you speak about, choose tape instead of cords with your wide slats. You'll get a similar effect at a fraction of the price. Good luck, Zoe
