Advice for Kitchen colour combination

Hi there, we have purchased a new kitchen which consists of dove grey base and wall units and then tall units across a wall which house the integrated appliances in Carbon (Dark Grey)

Need some ideas around what colour combinations could work for the worktops colours of the walls and flooring?

We were thinking Quartz for the worktops (20mm Silestone Quartz Marengo Polished).

Not sure what colour to have on the walls or flooring, dont want the whole room to be full of grey!

Any ideas welcome.

I have built my kitchen recently also.

I realized the kitchen color combination is very useful if you have a soft corner.

I quite like wood style floors to warm up an otherwise grey kitchen.

Separately - where are you going to put cutlery in this kitchen as there don’t seem to be any drawers? And how will you get into the cupboard above the breakfast bar?

Sounds like you have an architect involved - these are all questions that any architect worth their salt can answer for you. ;) South facing glazing is more likely to cause you problems with overheating rather than heat loss, especially during the summer. If you have a lot of south facing glazing then you may need to counterbalance this with some shading. Incorporating a thermal heat sink may also help. It's possible to have clean minimal lines and still create a warm homely feel - look at timber finishes, paint colours, etc as well as soft furnishings. Wood burning stoves are excellent - modern ones can be highly efficient ways to heat your space and look great as focal points in a room. Speak to your architect about these concerns/queries and if they're not able to answer or you're not convinced by their answer check that they are really architects - must be registered with the architects registration board - as all of these are simple questions that a good architect will be able to respond to for you. I think this is maple but still lookI think if you add more cabinets they will sit very well as long as the proportions match- You could also change all the handles so that they match. As far as a contrast colour you can choose ivory, brown, a brown grey, sage green and I think vibrant colours will also work like teal

How wide is the kitchen and what type of hob are you having? Depending on hob type and the distance of the rings you could continue the laminate as the splashback. Formica would appear to do a glossy finish, this is calacatta which I can't actually see on the website now but they do a Carrera version. I've just seen your other post and if you want something classic then you can't go wrong with a wood/wood effect floor. I'd also go for an aged brass tap and maybe see if you can find some flush/semi-flush pendants with a touch of brass. I do agree with OnePlans comment that it may be a little imposing having wall units both sides. Maybe consider a couple of shelves on the oven side which you can accessorise to add texture /colour?

Definitely wooden floor, white quartz worktop would be nice.

I'd definitely get rid of wall unit above breakfast bar, looks odd and it would be in the way if someone sitting there. I would actually not have any of the wall units, work out if you have enough storage. it would look so much nicer without and just have some shelves

we would have loved not to have any wall units but unfortunately we wouldn't have had enough storage, family of 6. The units above the breakfast bar open upwards and are no so deep, not ideal but we don't have more wall space anywhere else.

The breakfast bar will actually be overhung is oak worktop and the dresser unit (at the end of the tall unit run) , its shelves are oak so i suppose the flooring in wood would make sense? Bring it all together?

I like quartz with a grey vein going through them, wife hates them and wanted a dark concrete quartz worktop

Also ideas on lighting? we don't have any skylights but have a south facing garden but would like some ideas on lighting.
