Design Dilemma Bathrooms Bedrooms

Floor plan help: Master bedroom Suite

Tapping into Houzz Hive mind and the floor plan visionaries out there.

I am so stuck as to how to arrange the bedroom, wardrobes and master bathroom suite of the floor in this picture- I have never tackled this sort of space before! Please share good ideas/ inspiration from other clever things you have seen.

Bathroom needs to fit a bath and a shower and a partitioned loo

Closet ideally would have at least 8m of hanging!

Couple of quick questions? Is the bathroom going to be ensuite?
And have you earmarked the back bedroom as main bedroom just because it’s bigger? Does the front bedroom have a better view or nicer features?

Good question! The bedroom at the back is quieter and has a better view so keen to keep that as the bedroom. I'd like to put a door in the wall to make it ensuite.

I like Jonathon’s first drawing for a couple of reasons. You can have a walk in wardrobe for all the hanging clothes, which can end up looking a bit messy, and have the more traditional type of wardrobe for items that can be boxed up, such as handbags and shoes, and folded clothes / drawer items. I think a walk in wardrobe is better without a window as natural light can fade clothes, so much better to have a bright bathroom with 2 windows. Finally, as you’re building the internal walls from scratch you could look into having a pocket door system into the en suite thereby preventing a swinging door getting in the way of either the wardrobe or the shower.

What an amazing property! You are very lucky. Pray tell, will you be keeping the pool? Jonathan has a good idea but I think if you are worried about moving walls then maybe just replace and update all the fixtures and fittings and then see how you feel. Even a coat of paint can make a massive difference. In the ensuite, it's hard to tell the layout from your photos but you could definitely get rid of the bidet. Having the bidet's plumbing and waste should give you more flexibility if you want to change the bathroom layout too. Keep us posted, this is a really interesting house!

I love the above suggestion. Alternatively the first half of the second room could be the dressing area through which you walk through to access the large bathroom suite. Bathroom is best kept where the window is. I love creating spaces like this because it can be a real haven and escape for some people having their their private dressing area and ensuite! Make sure your dressing area is really well lit, if not custom joinery joinery could create something fab with IKEA pax sets. Just make the flooring really plush and soft and have some really nice seating In there. I would also deffo create a seating area in the bedroom too maybe by the window.. Have fun!

That’s a super big dressing room and I think you have room for more than 8m of wardrobes. There will probably be room for a table in the middle too (or an ottoman)
In the bedroom here should be room for 3m of drawers with a TV on the wall above.

As for the ensuite there is plenty of room for what you want. But there are plenty of ways this can all be laid out. Perhaps you might enlist a designer or concept planner to personalise the design for you and help you to visualise the plan.
