It is too low for book shelves and is sloping so some units would leave a big void behind them. Comments (16)Hello Tom, I saw RED! ;) ) It's because there's a heavy emphasis on warm colours... Najeebah is spot on! The eye takes in the whole but then focuses on the most dominant colour.... Comments (10)Hi Mortimer Blake, I see what you mean when it comes to classic style cabinets. Perhaps you need something more modern. How about open shelving (like below)? You could either go for built-in cabinets or freestanding. I would love to have these in my living room but due to space, don't think I can keep them tidy enough!
