I would have done the floor before the cabinets to be honest.

If you have appliances such as a washing machine or dishwasher in the kitchen as opposed to a utility and the floor doesn’t go underneath it how will you pull the washer out if you need a repair carried out on it?

When we had the pre assessment from our tiler there were no concerns about the floor. We knew it was concrete underneath and was confiden. It’s amazing how once you peel back layers a different picture appears. So we are stuck in this position and looking for a way forward ;)

The fitter can trim down the plinth. Normally they’re 150mm high, so if you need a lesser height they’d just have to trim them down. At the end of the day you have to have this work done so the floor person will just have to be careful not to damage the newly fitted kitchen. You do however need to bear in mind the floor standing appliances may need to be repaired at some point and moved so have to find a way forward with this. My flooring is underneath the washer and dishwasher for this purpose.

Our new kitchen was fitted the whole floor screeded and then lvt laid. No issues at all, plinth can be trimmed as mentioned. We have no appliances on the floor so saved hundreds by not flooring under units.
