Bathroom downlighting?

Hope someone can advise on best way forward. I have 5 pre existing bathroom down lights in place however I am unable to change the GU10 bulbs in 3 of them as the metal casings have completely seized, presumably due to many years of shower condensation. I have taken down the casing and unplugged the G10 Bulb from the fitting. The light casing reads “HALOLITE HA-DLM412 240V AC 50Hz Lamp Max 50W GZ/GU10 IP45 0.5m” I have searched online for like for like replacements however they are no longer produced.

Would it be acceptable to purchase IP65 downlights instead and would these be compatible and safe with the pre existing

fittings that hang down from the ceiling or is this a job best left for an electrician. Please see photos. Many thanks in advance.

I would ask a local electrical store. Take your photos and whatever you can detach from the light. We have an electrical trade store 5 miles away. The staff are very knowledgeable and it stands a chance you may also have a local similar store?

replacing them with IP rated ones is the best idea. the connector hanging down is part of the existing so that would be removed for the new one to connect to wiring further back which hopefully has enough slack to pull through the hole. An easy job for an electrician.

Hi all guess what the bathroom still isn't finished but I put some accessories in it and it is already looking quite different. The photo doesn't do it justice it looks better in real life. It looks quite pleasing to the eye. Unfortunately I have bigger problems than how it looks. Do any plumbers know if this shower is access compliant? It has no cut-out or thermostat. You have to control the shower with the bath taps so there is a high risk of scalding. Considering this is a specialist company for mobility I find this pretty shocking. You can't shut off the water other than the taps. Also the temperature fluctuates as there is no thermostat. This is the pipework and electrics below does anyone know if this is legal? See how near the pipes are to the cables??? It seems a bit precarious to me. I am worried about the cables getting hot or wet. Thanks everyone for your support and wish you all a Happy Christmas.

A yes from me if you've got the ceiling height :) They are however quite difficult to find although I haven't looked for quite a while. You may also want downlights to light up other areas and maybe wire to more than one switch. Hi, Thanks for all the replies so far! @honeymummy thanks I think you are right about the mustard - I was going to buy some mustard towels but went for white in the end! Still could be good to have one or two. The plant should survive it loves humidity and there's a small east facing window :) @carolina thanks! Great advice on where to place art. I think I'll hold off on a shelving unit at the moment as I don't really need the storage yet. That little diver hook is great. I guess two hooks near the shower makes more practical sense. I was originally thinking of something like this but it would have to be on the other wall sitting on the step but unfortunately not as practical as you couldn't just grab a towel coming out of the shower. I think I've found two art prints for the wall opposite the toilet: They've got a fun nautical vibe (although that octopus is a little bit creepy!). Not sure what would look good on the toilet wall but something big and maybe with more colour. @KK1000 A stool would be great but the bathroom is too small sadly. I think a shelf under the mirror may eventually be needed but I'm not sure about extending it wider than the wash stand? @fran11home: thanks! I should have taken a photo of the light it is just a ceiling lamp with three spotlights. It would be nice to have something a bit more interesting. I don't really want to re-wire at the moment so can't have lights either side of the mirror. They would look good though! I should have done that before plastering and painting. It seems the black toilet seat is 50/50 I was thinking it's a bit more traditional and would match the shower but white also looks fine. Thanks again!
