Full Height Headboard

Where can I get a floor to ceiling height headboard with mirrors built either side? Does it attach to an existing bed or do I need to purchase a bed base?!

I’ve contacted 2 joiners who said they can built the frame but have nothing to do with the fabric - and they didn’t know who, what, how! Thanks in advance

@carolina - ohhh I didn’t realise they are wall panels! I thought it was a headboard!

So, does that mean I need to purchase a divan style bed base? Was hoping to use my existing bed..

This is extremely large! Your problem will be that sheet materials like chipboard or mdf which would normally form the structure of the headboard come in 2440mm x 1220mm. This means you need to join it. Joining then upholstering would be unsuccessful unless you are doing it in situ. I would talk to s local upholsterer if I were you.

The size of the bed will affect how the winged one looks more than the others. If it’s only a standard double I don’t think it will look in proportion, I don’t know why it matters more, maybe because it’s a bit more three dimensional than other headboards.

I can’t see from the photo if the end of the bed protrudes beyond the slope, so why don’t you turn the bed around so the head is where the end of the bed is now, then put up a shelf/cabinet pointing into the room to use as a bed head for books etc. just a thought, it could look good depending on the finish. The same type of idea as a console table behind a sofa if you follow my drift.

I wish we had enough room for that! The room is only 3.38m by 4.5m. I think we’re going to use Ikea Ivar shelves and cover them on the front with slatted panels or MDF. 😬

If your existing bed doesn't have a fixed headboard, you just push it up to the wall panels, I think?

I would put the mirrors on the wall and fill the space between them with upholstered panels.

Or the other way around.

I have made bespoke headboards before not quite as big as you are looking for. They were then upholstered by a local company to where I was working. This was built and secured directly to the wall and the bed then pushed up to. I would then make a framed mirror to be fitted before the upholsterer has done their bit and the fabric can be finished off around the frame of the mirrors to make it look built in rather than an add on. Are you wanting the mirrors on the ends of the head board or the face over the bed?
