Kitchen extension glazing conundrum

HI - We are getting a side return extension built onto our kitchen. The extension will be on the north side of the house, which is end of terrace, but sides on to the back gardens of other houses. The end of the kitchen will have large bi-folds onto the west facing garden, but no other windows. I am torn between a flat glazed roof on the extension and a pitched glazed roof. Which will give the best light and create the impression of most space? Thanks!
