5 years agoPhoto would help, but you could put shelving in both. One will be wider than the other, but I don't see the problem with that. Or a desk in the one alcove and shelves in the other. Depends on your style and what you want or need.

need help with my master bedroom
Comments (0)On my master bedroom I have a uneven wall (as if a fireplace were suppose to be there but it is not, there is not even the alcove for to, just the wall sticking out), and this is right were my king sleigh bed is. I want to level of the wall, but its a rental place, i would like to spend the least money on a plaster work or to spend more money on panels, to make it look nice but something i can take with me later. Comments (3)Yes - put full height wardrobes to run up to where he's holding the board - then return into alcove area with more 2/3 tall storage, so the FRONT of that retuned part is in line with that panel too( not infront of it ) - will take you to just under the Velux - and Echo the same look of 2/3 high on the opposite side too ( even though it looks like its wall ) with matching doors ( maybe middle doors on each side could be mirror ) it will make it feel bigger ... Add shoe storage shelving on the end return, allowing access hatch to be accessed by having that area as a taller boot storage part or as a taller mirror that opens as a door ( if there's room ) so giving you three mirrors to bounce the light about a bit ... Comments (2)You could use Mirrored Acrylic sheet for the back. It's far more easily cut and will look effective. You can put the acrylic up and still drill through it to put up the shelves, which you can't do with mirror so easily. Bear in mind though, that if you want strip lights, they don't stick particularly well in my experience, plus, if using glass, you will see them. You may be better off with Mirrored acrylic for the back and wooden shelving or black shelving to tie in with the kitchen. You can add a lip to the wood with quadrant on the front of the shelf, this then allows the strip lighting to sit on the wood and it will stay where you put it, plus the little quadrant lip with direct the light slightly backwards on to the mirror. However, you will still see the reflection of the back of the wood and the strip lighting in the mirror. I think i'd be tempted to go with the mirrored acrylic with your glass shelves and no strip lighting. You have a spot light very nearby, so the acrylic will pick up on that. You have no socket / power source nearby for the transformer, so you'd have to come off one of the spotlights, mount it in the ceiling and then come down to the shelves. Comments (8)Build in a window seat with storage. Either as drawers, cabinets or just having a large empty chest to dump things into all help keep clutter down. Add some nice backing pillows and you have a cozy nook. For the fireplace wall, dual matching sideboards are definitely the way to go. The right one could be a mock sideboard with a decorative grill cover. Match the colours style and patterns to the left side. Add shelves only if you have good stuff to put on them like vinyl records or books. Otherwise leave it open and add some decorative elements....See More

Depends on the piece of art, but I think it'll be fine.
Something like this could work too, with the TV on the low alcove side and either very shallow shelves above that and deeper shelves on the left side. And just doors in front of the bottom part. Useful toy storage :-)
