I have been having this debate. Wood vs wood look tiles. In the end I have decided to have wood look tiles, because I know wood would get scratched and it would bother me. We have small boisterous kids, we move furniture around a lot (dining table when we have guests, sofa to check for lost toys, breakfast stools and chairs all the time) - those felt pads end up coming off - and I don‘t want to be nagging all visitors to take their shoes off. So for us, the tiles are better. But only with UFH, and rugs in the sitting area.
