Thanks to everyone on this site we used the Silverado grout. In my opinion, it looks fantastic. I was going to do just a simple Undermount white sink. So I didn’t lose countertop space I avoided going with a vessel sink. But I’m still open to ideas.My countertop fabricator can’t measure for two weeks so I have some time to finalize the sink.

Too “minimalist” can be too boring. Bring in some color with machine-washable rugs, towels, accessories and a piece of art under glass.

Since it is a cabin in the woods, maybe adding some biophilic design? pine tree or branch rug, tree ring art, etc..

I love simple bathrooms. Yours is looking great so far. Adding colour isn't essential for "interest"; texture or a mix of finishes (shiny, satiny, matte, etc.) can work as well. My top criteria in a bathroom are function and ease of cleaning so those attributes would guide whatever I'd add.

I agree with the undermount sink decision. Maximize countertop space. Do you have pictures of the custom barn glass doors? Do the vanity drawers have enough door clearance to open fully? Hard to see on the pic. How is your lighting? Have you chosen a mirror? Do you need a medicine cabinet? Where will the hand towel go? Towel or robe hooks?

Definitely I would like to add some black metal hardware. If I did satin pulls & faucet, would just black towel hardware and hooks be enough black? I love black, but need advice.

And I would like to add texture with a rug and not color. So thank you too.

I would love a 60” wide mirror but not sure I should do that over the toilet. Our cottage has only one bathroom, so the extra mirror space might be nice.....as long as no one drops their blow dryer in the toilet (just joking)

I am leery of getting a medicine cabinet with a built in LED because the bulbs are integrated. I just don’t see it lasting. Not the cost but filling a landfill if it breaks.

Here's a minimalist bathroom with touches of black. The black touches have fairly slim profiles.

Black can easily look "heavy", imo. It has more visual weight than nickel or chrome, for example. If you're going to add black, it needs to be balanced throughout the space, I think. The barn door hardware will be nickel or black?

As for the rug, was it a decorative rug or a shower mat you remove when not in use?

Also, how often will two people use the room at the same time? Hair styling can be done in a bedroom, for example.

Thank you! I am in the planning stages of a minimalist bathroom. These suggestions were wonderful. Your original question was about the window. For privacy & a punch of color, I would commission a piece of stained glass with enough clear glass to give you some view & colors that would harmonize with nature & the rest of your house. Lovely!

What is outside your comfort zone? Your pic above with the black hardware on barn doors or the one I posted? And why? What do you like or dislike about the picture? That's going to help you choose the elements you want.

If your barn door hardware will be brushed nickel, I'd keep the same for the faucet. I'd limit the black to the towel hooks, mirror frame and vanity pulls. What's your lighting?

If you have any black items or even cardboard or fabric, can you bring it in the space to see how it feels in certain spots?
