Hello - sound like an exciting project and I really hope you find a professional you enjoy. If you are maintaining the structural walls within the apartment then, yes, an interior designer (or interior architect) can help you visualise your options with floor planning and 3D modelling. A designer can also make sure your plans get signed off on by your local council (and your apartment building). I personally give my clients 3 design/floor plan options so they can really have some choices. Maybe ask for something like this when you talk to a professional? Where are you located? I do know quite a few interior architect studios around the uk. My biggest tip would be to trust your gut when hiring someone for your home, talk to several professionals and go with someone you like because you will be spending a lot of time with them in the next few months. I’m wondering if you are imagining a Chalon style kitchen, chunky, painted and distressed? if so maybe you could source some freestanding items and convert or find a joiner to make up?
