paint help please

I need some advice on paint colour please. My friend has let me colour test her F & B oval room blue (on the right) but I think it looks too green. Then on the left I have denim drift which I think is too grey. I need something in between I think 🤔. Any advice would be fab as I want to get painted before the blinds arrive.

Hi Bobb. Reading all the comments you have received you can see that within a good design everything is linked. I would begin by looking at what you have and working outwards with the cost in mind. The sofa and curtains will be your biggest expense but also less likely to be changed (for the same reason).. I would begin by choosing these which will give you a theme and colour pallet to work from. This will also help you determine a layout which may effect which colours you use where. The window covering choice may also alter the light coming into the space which will in turn may change the colours that are most appropriate for the space. If you go for a neutral colour in those items then the colour in the space would be in the stained glass. Baring this in mind and the era I would go for deep jewel purple or mauve, think velvet! A little tip - feature walls are out this year (so good call there). If you are spending a lot on the space when you consider all new furniture and large areas to paint and cover with window dressings, it maybe worth having a 3D of the space which is a fraction of the cost and no where near what it would cost to amend mistakes once they are made. I think there would be too many colours in the main room if you add another into the equation. Stick to the wallpaper and Timeless all round.

Grey goes with so many colours so it depends very much on what you are drawn to as well. The rule of thumb being match cool greys with other cooler colours such as blue, pale greens and cool white. And match darker grey tones with warm tones such as burnt orange, mustard, and teal. But you can go soft pinks as well which give a lovely warm vibe too and work with sage green accessories. You definitely haven't got the whole lot wrong. I think it looks a very smart room. I like the shape and colour of your sofas and think they look great with the curtain/cushion fabric. Likewise I think the rug is a really good colour. I wouldn't change colour but if I you really pushed me I'd say get a bigger size (poss more about me than you! I've always kicked myself for not going larger with rug in my living room). Again if I was splitting hairs I'd say the colour of the units (TV, side tables etc) is not quite right. It's a bit too warm beigey for the other colours in there. So I'd maybe consider painting those either darker, cool undertone colour or maybe even the cream/white shade you've got on radiator wall/alcoves.

The wardrobes are light grey as are the blinds. My bedding is generally bright tropical prints. I'll attach a pic to include the blind sample. I'm looking for a bold wall colour to tie it all together, not too dark though. I've hit a dead end. I was so sure oval room blue would work.

The thing is I actually like denim drift but I'm worried it will look too dark if I paint every wall which is what I was planning to do. The light grey wardrobes take up almost an entire wall and my furniture is all light. Blinds will also be light and the room has 3 windows and is a light room but I'm just worried it could be too much. 😕

Is the headboard staying as it looks cream, I'm not sure of the cream, ble and grey with other colours too. If your bedding is usually floral with a hint of green I'd go for the greener looking Oval Room Blue

Yeah headboard is staying. Thanks for the advice. I just not feeling the greenness. The bedding does have grey and blue in it too. If be happy for suggestions between the two of anyone has any other paint colour suggestions.
