Kerb appeal ideas please
Comments (14)thank you tez, I like the porch idea, the entrance would be to the side of the house and if I could afford and permitable I would do a side extension but it's an overkill as the space is enough currently, maybe a small porch style roof over the entry way, I have saved examples of these. I've never thought of using a gate, wouldnt it be a hassle to open and close the gate when parking? but it's a good security feature specially around kids. we need to consider postman too. the side space is being considered for parking as the house entrance is there. and having hedging or planting at the front...See MoreRug ideas please!

Comments (18)Your garden looks lovely:) My first thought was to add something colourful and vibrant like some mosaic wall art but as minnie101 has pointed out this would draw attention to the bins. Would make great little project tho as you could make it yourself with tile samples, painted pebbles, and Brocken crockery grouted onto some marine ply, perhaps have this above the sofa and move the window to that area. Or how about some wall baskets or wire shelves. Here’s mine plus some inspo for mosaic art (click pics to enlarge), do need to sort out placement of the wall basket and add a few more bits and bobs, and yes...my sempervivum has grown something that looks a bit rude!!!;)...See MoreLeave inglenook wall as bare stone?
Comments (9)The 'recess' is actually the main entrance: Ive tried to take a photo of it in context.... This is a close up of the stone work by the door. You can see its of poor quality with lots of old lime plaster, new gypsum plaster, bits of cement and all sorts... This is a close up of the stone around the fireplace. It seems more 'finished'. I wander whether in the past it was meant to have been exposed, but then they thought better of it and decided to plaster to the stone arch. (You can see the curve of the white line where the plaster did finish). Maybe the stone work by the door is as good as the stone around the fireplace. Im almost afraid to touch it in case large chunks come out!! (It doesnt look or feel very sound! ;) )...See Moreali270
