Hi there, We just went through a very similar process and although we have ended up going with tiles, simply because I'm fussy and couldn't find a panel that I liked the look of, I learnt a lot of stuff in the process! Definitely look at different suppliers as they are not all created equal! It seemed to us that you do get what you pay for! Some of the brands such as Nuance with their Bushboard don't need the (in my opinion) slightly ugly profiles and finishing strips, whereas many of the cheaper brands do. Some of them also need finishing strips around the base, which to me personally looked worse than sealant and grout! The Nuance certainly seemed to be the best of the bunch to us and I was disappointed they didn't have a style that I liked, otherwise we would have ordered from them. Rubberduck bathrooms online seemed to be a good place to look at a variety of different suppliers and I also found them to be very helpful on the phone going through the different brands and sending out samples, so worth having a look at their website / giving them a ring for a chat. Definitely panels for me. Around 6 months ago we fitted Nuance by Bushboard in the shower. No mucky grouting and a lot quicker to fit than tiles. You obviously need something behind the basin so could cut down a spare piece of the panel and fit it, therefore continuing the colour scheme and then you could paint everything else. By having somewhere to paint it allows you to change things in a couple of years. If there's no panel left add some tiles just to this area. Tiles all round is boring, time consuming and you can't change things in a couple of years for a new colour scheme without replacing all of them.

I suspect its drainpipe 26 F&B or possibly railings (looks a little too dark to me though for railings in that light - but that could be just my monitor) .. Hi, I don't think it will dominate the space once the unit is painted/tiled. At the moment, the reason it seems to stick out is due to the colour contrast between the green and plaster. If you tile it/ paint it a similar shade to the tiles, it will blend in and look a part. And ofcourse, it will serve as great storage which is always a requirement.
