Not sure how to layout room
Hello
I have a small spare bedroom in my house that I was going to rent out/air bnb. I bought a double bed and quite a large wardrobe. I am not sure how is best to lay the room out, it is quite small so its a bit of a challenge. Anybody got any advice regarding the two below layouts that I created?

Comments (30)Before running out to shop new sofas, try a reshuffle of what you have. The tv in the window definitely doesn’t work. Placing it in front of the shelves is definitely worth a try. Bring the L sofa forward more off the window wall and further along so it forms a cosier group with the tv, coffee table and fireplace. It might work better if the corner was even as far as the edge of the window. Having it further out will also provide another walkway to the seating, rather than the only walkway being through the middle. Is there another spot for the rattan draw unit? Where it currently is would be a good spot for the pet bed. I agree some better drapes would be an improvement - the current ones give the walls a pinkish hue. You could go dark, but in doing so I would ensure that when open they hang clear of the windows so as not to lose light. This might entail longer curtain poles. The walls actually look less pinkish in the corner with the lamp - hence the suggestion of dark drapery. Maybe just panels, not full drapes would be enough, as it appears you have blinds as well. Remove the small sofa and pop your lamp there for a try. change the frame of the art on that wall to a black frame to be cohesive with the other piece the other side of the window. Another floor lamp, if you can find one like the one you have - in the original spot could work. And you would probably still have room to find a great reading chair, maybe a swivel or Eames style chair for the bay! Comments (3)Hi Penny The primary function of the room seems to be watching TV and socialising. For this reason the arrangement you have at the moment works. However, it would be a shame to ignore the sunny space near the sliding doors. I suggest getting a long 3 or 4 seater sofa and place it between the two sconces. Place a low bench or chaise on its left, near the garden wall, so that the view is not blocked; and a loveseat opposite to it. This solves the watching TV problem and allows for about 8 bums on seats. For the sunny stretch, you could put a hanging egg chair, and some shelving on the wall either side of the sliding door for books. This then becomes the reading nook. Or you could put a dining table and chairs there if you need a dining option....See More

Here's another layout that you can try. If the wardrobe has sliding doors , it would work well in space. If the wardrobe has normal doors, you can try moving the bed as close as possible to the wall to get some space to open the door of the wardrobe.
