Re-sizing back bedroom window - allowed?

Hi, wondering if anyone here knew if you're allowed to change the size of a window facing back garden without a planning permission? It's a semi detached house and I'm of course keeping the windows in line with the current design at the front. The back bedroom doesn't get any light due to one small window and I thought now would be a great opportunity to make it bigger but I don't seem to find any information on the Planning Portal. If anyone had any experience and could shed some light, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
