Redecorating bedroom with fitted wardrobes - help!
Comments (10)We're all for a bit of hard work, and would definitely paint the cupboards. You are right not to use F&B, it's an inferior paint compared to dulux, and not correct for your purposes, being Eggshell finish. Dulux Trade Satinwood is far better, gives a better finish and is hardwearing. ( It's also more expensive than F&B i'm afraid, but you get what you pay for ). I'd paint the cupboards in a pale grey and replace the knobs. Give the area behind the bed a good dark grey finish, to help with making your choice of headboard really stand out. A quick rough paint idea using Dulux Night Jewels 2 and 6...See Moreneed help with designing kitchen, living room and bedroom in one room
Comments (3)Are you sure you have the measurements correct. That's around 300 Feet long by 45 feet - The size of a football pitch! That being the right size, you'd need to get an architect on board, presumably there are some windows there etc, you can't make suggestions until you know the basics - that starts with plumbing and drains., these will dictate where you can put the rooms....See MoreMaster bedroom re-design
Comments (4)Hi. Yes, I would paint the wardrobes and it really depends on the colour of the other walls. If you paint them the same colour as the wall they are on then they will appear to be apart of the wall and will be far less imposing. The mix match of woods doesn't help so I would look at changing this to have one wood and the painted if possible. I would add height to the room to help with the look, mirror the length in the wardrobes opposite drawing your eye up the space, with taller more imposing bedside lamps....See MoreI have a ~15ftx10.5ft bedroom in dire need of a tidy up and re-design.
Comments (21)After many weeks of experimenting with furniture positions I have finally reached a conclusion which I'm happy with. I am selling the Ikea black desk which was too small and impractical for the room and replaced it with my old curved desk which now fits snugly in the South East corner of my room. I have also put the chest to good use which is now under the bed and will be replaced by 'weathered scaffold board' shelves on the South West wall which previously held my guitars. The guitars will be placed on the North East wall above my chest of drawers which are stacked and positioned next to the bed. I am still yet to decide however which wall should contain all of the photos and canvas'... Perhaps above the headboard. The speakers will be positioned accordingly once some shelves fill the South East corner wall above the desk and the 3 shelves have been positioned. The LP player along with the vinyls will be on the bottom shelf which is still in the process of design. Once this is complete.. I may have time to put hooks above Bob Marley's head for the cables.... If you believe I'm going the wrong direction with this please give me a shout. Pictures will be posted upon completion....See MoreMatthew Decorator
