Sofa ideas please
Hello
I'm looking for suggestions for sofas to go in the living room. Looking for a 3 and a 2 seater to go in place of the brown ones on here, so need to be reasonably narrow in width.
In particular, we're struggling for what sofa colour would match the walls / floor well?
TV stand, pictures, lamp and rug are no longer there.

Comments (5)Perhaps I should have explained this in my original post but it was all said as banter... as innocent joking. Me and the previous owner shared a similar sense of humour and telling him was done in regards to a joke he made about how they will probably turn out to be worth more than his baby's new pram. Obviously it was not done to gloat or be malicious, it was all said jokingly. He's also aware, as am I, that there is no way he would have been able to sell them on second hand for even half of their original price... especially with them being so ugly. I personally have always loved this style of sofa. Once we have decorated they will go wonderfully with my old sewing machine and my 1960s Welsh dresser. It's a bit of a niche yes but sadly some of us really do love the old fashioned grandad look. Most of you may think they are hideous or ugly and that I'm an awful person who deserves them however isn't this why we are all here? To share our tastes and ideas? To support one another and give tips? Honestly, I didn't expect to get a verbal bashing about how ugly my home, sofas or even my personality are... I believed it was fairly apparent that it was written as a funny post but as I said, perhaps I should have explained properly. I thought we were here to help each other with our homes, I hate my new home in it's current state and was very reluctant to post photos but believed it may be of use. I doubt I will try again. Comments (18)Your garden looks lovely:) My first thought was to add something colourful and vibrant like some mosaic wall art but as minnie101 has pointed out this would draw attention to the bins. Would make great little project tho as you could make it yourself with tile samples, painted pebbles, and Brocken crockery grouted onto some marine ply, perhaps have this above the sofa and move the window to that area. Or how about some wall baskets or wire shelves. It's looking like either a neutral (but contrasting against beige carpet) or a colour based rug would work equally well, depending on personal preference. We have double doors from the living room into our dining room which has black & white check curtains - photo shows the view through. I'm wondering whether a black and white/ivory rug would connect the rooms together from a design point of view? Saying that I think a rug that pulls the colours together would look good too....See More

I like the current colour of your sofas and also the sofas suggested.
The mantel and light stand out for me in the photo. You could get the mantel plated in a metal and work from there, for example with chrome you could introduce a dark grey sofa, brass you could introduce a mustard colour sofa and copper plating would go well with your current colour. (is the light fixture copper wire? Matching the mantel and light could be good too.
