Your house looks fab and the hallway seems to be spacious - you lucky thing!! I think dark blue could work well - my own hallway is white but with one wall painted dark blue - and I love it. However I’ve got serious house envy (and specifically hall envy) at the moment of a blogger who I also follow on instagram - your hallway made me think of hers because the height of your picture rail is similar to the height of some panelling that she’s added. Just wanted to say such a lovely hallway and I wouldn't say it's dark at all!!! Please don't counteract your dark feeling by painting it all light. It needs colour, what I'm not sure but it's going to be lovely!!

Hi everyone, I live in a rented house and I’ve been given permission from the landlord to paint in ’neutrals’ However I have never really been a fan of grey, but this property is restricted to grey carpets which I will probably stick to as painting is my priority cost now, oh and lighting. I will start purchasing rugs later. I love pale soft and warm colours and I really need to brigten up this hallway its so depressing to see the orange I can not explain despite it being a bright happy colour. Can anyone help? Ive attached a pic of a mood board Ive put together and open for paint suggestions. I need a paint colour that wont pull too grey even though its fighting against the forces of north facing and dark grey carpet.

I painted my hall Pigeon and it is far too dark for my dingy hall. Wish I had gone lighter. I’ve got Cromarty in my living room and it is lovely and I should have used it in the hall too. So I agree with minnie101! Here it is in my room.
