I think use the tiles only on the back wall, it will be too much otherwise and without the shower screen will flow too much into the vanity area above the sink. The green is ok but I'd be worried it doesn't compliment the colours in the tiles enough. I also think the drift wood is too dark, I'd go for a nice matt grey. maybe mirror the whole alcove area above the sink?

You might also want to take the cabinetry round under the bath to match?

I rather like when people use pattern on the wall above the sink area right up to the ceiling. I agree with Kingfisher and keep the floor a lighter tone. Here’s some ideas of what I mean but using your tiles.

Thank you for this, really appreciate it. Just for clarification, with a Matt grey sink/toilet unit, would you say a lighter grey wall paint for the whole room to offset the vanity and tiles? For floor, a lighter stone colour?

What would you recommend on the bath end walls, a different tile perhaps?

Re mirror alcove- we need to have storage so would 2 mirrored cabinets be ok or look a bit odd?

I love the tiling pattern behind the sink, but we really need to have storage of some type there unfortunately. The alternative is a tall column when you walk in, which we have now and desperately want to get rid off

This was the bathroom we did in our flat a few years ago where we used a bit of the patterned tile on the back wall and we had one line of those tiles at the end of the bath by the door as a shelf too. Too much would have overwhelmed a small space.

Also to add. Our room was about the same size as yours and also had no windows.

Maybe carry the patterned tiles across from the backsplash as a wide band round the bath? With plain tiles above and below? Would save you money as patterned tiles more expensive and mean it wasn’t too busy.

it now looks like we're quite limited to the fitted furniture we can get (a few issues with how the waste pipes were installed - which wouldmean a bigger cost) - the solution we've found isnt too big (30cm deep - so doesnt come too far into the room) but is limited in colours.

which of these colours would work best with the tiles? i think the (matt) cashmere, silver grey, or white could work in our space.

I think we're at the point now where we just cant make a decision and getting overwhelmed!

From your pic above I'd probnably choose the Silver Grey as it's pulling out more of the greens from the tiles. I quite like the thought of the Natural Oak to bring a bit more warmth and to balance out the wall of tile - but I'd be worried it will be that plastic oak veneer which just looks a bit cheap and nasty. White can be a bit dodgy too - if you can go see the cabinets in person to check how good/bad they look in person I'd advise doing that. The Cashmere is too grey-grey for me (bit cold and flat), the Silver Grey looks like a warm green-grey which I like as a pale neutral. Of the two darker greys (Grey and Charcoal) I'd choose Charcoal as it's more of a statement.

I love the tiles and agree with the suggestion to do behind the sink and into the bath in a band. Or possibly a vertical band in the middle of the bath?
Also second the vote for silver grey, although I couldn’t articulate why until I read the previous post

Hi Darren just to throw another thought into the mix I would put the tiles bath to ceiling on the long wall….fully mirror above the vanity etc. There are some beautiful warm colours in the tiles and as your bathroom has no windows it would be lovely to play up that feeling of enclosed sanctuary/Cocoon …..so I would use a dusky pink (taken from the tiles) for the walls …. To create a truly relaxing space …..good luck with your project

Hi Darren - looks like you are pulling together your theme by now but just in case you are still open to variations - it looks like you have a lot going on here with different colours and textures and I wander if the following might help to pair things down a bit allowing your coloured tiles to pop from a more natural backdrop rather than risk overwhelm. My suggestion would be to go for larger stone effect porcelain tiles for the walls rather than the metro ones colour to blend with the flooring and the matt stone like surface might tie in well with the driftwood storage. Then rather than a whole wall of the coloured tiles you could go for a vertical panel strip set off centre along the bath wall (as narrow or wide as works for you) and also leaving a painted border of say 30cm between the tiles and ceiling. - Hope you enjoy your project

The patterned tiles if you go for them totally dictate everything else in the room, the effect is dynamic, but perhaps not cosy. If you want cosy, I would go for stone coloured tiles and natural finishes. If you want bright and energetic then the patterned tiles will give you that. I wouldn't mix them with creams, nor textured tiles, nor greys, I would go graphic and simple, white and wood. You can get patterned tiles that are not so colourful, but these are patterned and colourful therefore I would play down other areas to avoid visual overload.

I'm afraid I would just try to convince your wife to do something else as that look will look SO dated in no time at all and anything THAT busy you tend to tire of far mor quickly than something more restrained. But restrained doesn't have to be boring. Consider doing something with paint alongside the bath instead and then having a glass "splashback" made to fit and protect that bit of wall. That way, if you're tired of it/fancy a change in a few years' time, you can simply unfix the glass, repaint and refix. Just an idea.

I would keep the room all white with white gloss units and warm it up with some wood tones in a nice mirror, a hanging articial plant and some colourful stripey towels and bathmat.

We are looking for the same type of tiles to use on the wall of the sink. The whole bathroom will be a toned down yellow (that's the idea for now) and a secluded shower area - turquoise. The idea is to make it Spanish style, ao there will be a lot of dark wood wood (beams, mirror, sink plank, maybe some more planks, wooden door), some old school wall lights. Shower head and tap are supposed to be bronze color, the old school type. And we'll have plants hanging and standing around. Only not sure about the floor tiles yet. My husband wants it all in pebbles, but i'm not sure it will look nice

I did pattern on the floor and marble effect on all the walls. The room is cosy and bright; a small ensuite that feels large.

Stone effect wallboards around the bath, dark floor, generally darker with lots of shiny surfaces. My wife really wanted a darker cosier feel in the end.
