I don't know what your taste is but I think you could definitely make this bathroom feel very clean and modern. As you suggest changing the tiles would help. You could go for plain tiles but hung in an interesting pattern or with coloured grout. I would consider tiling across the whole of the wall with the loo on and then streamlining the accessories. Maybe one largish mirrored cabinet (look at IKEA Godmorgen) which would combine storage and mirrors that you currently have. I would also get your tiler to tile a bath panel for you. A lighter floor (maybe a mid-grey lino?) would lift the room also. I'm not sure I'd bother changing the basin, it might be difficult to get a colour match and putting something white there in between the two grey things would look a bit off I think.

Hi Jason, I'm glad you found this helpful. My thoughts for the upstairs a relatively simple so I'll just describe them: You have a few options depending on what your priorities are: 1. combine the bathroom and shower room as 1 large bathroom, with a door on an angled wall next to bedroom 2 ( as you suggested). (and you could also add an ensuite to the master bedroom at the front right.) 2. Or you could use some of the space of the above room to create an ensuite for the main bedroom, but have a similar main bathroom size to the existing. 3. Or you could take some of the space from Bedroom 2 to create a large main bathroom and a nice size ensuite for the master bedroom. (4. you could swap the bathrooms with bedroom 3, but I wouldn't recommend this as it would be a lot of work for very little or no improvement).
