What a stunning table! I think replica wishbone would look beautiful. Alternatively, if space is of concern, how about continuing with the tan leather theme to link the two spaces together.

I had wondered about tan leather.
I was also looking at eames style as well as wishbone.

Do you know of a good place that does these chairs?
I had a look at a £150 black wishbone chair and it felt a little cheap looking. It had a scratch and underneath the black was white so must just be sprayed. Would like the chairs to last.
Can’t stretch to real thing but up to about £300 each I am hoping will get me a half decent chair?

I think you need to echo the handcrafted feel of the table and the black of the legs.

I think a black painted spindle type chair such as this would look great. I would not go upholstered.

I wouldn’t recommend velvet in a dining room. It’s too difficult to keep clean and doesn’t do well with spillages.

I like the tolix style but being metal do they feel cold? And how comfortable do you find them?

I think you are right about the wishbone. Not sure how far they stick out from table (anybody got one who can advise?) but feel they probably would take too much space up.

I have aged relatives so that was my concern re Tolix and I I would prefer not to have loose seat pads, but will have a look.

I’ve got them around 8cm away from the table and they stick out 50cm. They are quite wide too depending on how many you want

That's a great table! Sounds like you've got the industrial style running through this space? You mention a tan leather sofa too. I'd go for tan leather or faux leather chairs or some black wooden chairs. These tan chairs are from Habitat £80 for two and the black one is from IKEA £60 for one.

I am not sure really what style our room is!
I feel it possibly has more than one going on as we have a modern fireplace with 3 sided fire.
We do have tan leather but then a navy rug with large ochre ottoman in middle.
I have been wondering if there are too many colours in the room.
I think if I had a cream rug it would be better but with 2 dogs it’s not practical.

I am trying to get chairs right now rather than make any more mistakes!
