We agree that wood would be a better option as it avoids introducing another material into the mix. With a brass, you'd be highlighting the joins whereas with a wood, all you see is wood to the next flooring material, letting the floors take all the limelight. Hope that helps!

I had to check what mine were as I didn’t even realise the threshold could be incorrectly placed! Here’s how mine were done by my local carpet people. First is the bathroom where you can see a tiny bit of the threshold from inside and the second two pics are my bedroom, all looks good. I think 88wj88’s idea sounds a good one so that it isn’t so obvious?
