I am moving into a rental, the master bedroom is very awkward and has a weird window. How can I fit my bed, wardrobes and bed side tables without lining them up across one wall like in the picture.

The wall opposite the window is the entrance to the ensuite and the wall opposite the bed currently has a wardrobe however you could probably fit a bed. The lay out would be: bedside table, bed, bedside table, radiator.

That looks like a good sized bedroom, for a start! My advice would be not to be averse to putting a piece of furniture in front of the window. Hi, in that space I would put a nice relaxing framed print and beneath it a shaker style shelf with pegs to hang pretty scarves or hats or bags. I have one in my utility room between two cupboards and it gives a lovely feel to the room as well as being useful. Mirrors are not good feng shui opposite a bed and although shoe storage is great it might be too much between the wardrobes. Pretty colours!

Hi. You could put wardrobes on the 18'3 wall and have the bed in front on a wall. Rather than go for a full height wall go for a dwarf one and have the wall just behind side tables and the bed (assuming you don't have wide side tables). Or do the same but the bed on the 12' wall. Alternatively have wardrobes on the bottom wall and build in a window seat with shelves above and have the bed in front of the bay window. I can't save any images though unfortunately

Before removing any of the wardrobes i'd consider the down sizing of available storage. You could change the big bank of wardrobes for something that you prefer, but i'd keep them in the same place. The space over the stairs probably isn't big enough to put a bed in and bedside tables, so, even if you removed them i'd use it for a nice free standing chest of drawers / dressing table. I'd keep the bed where it is. However, i'd give the other little cupboard with the radiator in it over to the bedroom behind. This will give you a nice flat wall upon which to have the bed and bedside tables, plus give the other room more storage.

We did look at doing that originally with the aechitext but the upstairs has an open staircase so it cuts up a lot of room and would cost hundreds to stud it all out and put in and plaster the walls and put windows in :0( Plus I have a dressing area at the top of the landing where a window is ( the only window light that could come from upstairs is a north facing side window) so I might lose some of this. Overall it wouldn’t give us anything except showing the stairs in the hallway ie no cloakroom and a smaller upstairs with a lot of cost. We understand the hall is small and that’s just as the house was built so it’s one of those things. It’s just trying to use what is there as my OH wont spend any extra on things he deems aren’t fundamental now, lol.

The wall that the bed is on in the floorplan works well as when you walk into the room you see the bed rather than a large wardrobe. You could make a feature and put wall art above etc too. It’s the wardrobe I’m worried about it’s a 2 meter wardrobe and I don’t know where to put it
