Thank you so much for all this info. Does anyone happen to have the colour mix code for a valsper sample tin. Took the codes today and they said they can’t scale the size down enough for a sample pot and obviously I want to try the colour in our lighting first?

Hi Hansbans73 Your project in the visuals looks amazing and I’m very jealous! I feel that the double height roof space and pitch definitely merits having a feature pendant, as it appears the pitch is central and so will offer a complete feel to the space. Downlights in the high ceiling will make the space feel too open in my opinion and, ideally, you want something that’ll sew each of the spaces together. If you could build a platform on the pitch to take a pendant, and you like contemporary styles, I would consider something like the Harco Loor Big Bubbles pendant (top photo below). It would fill the space nicely but wouldn’t obstruct your awesome view from the balcony, as you can see through it. Of course, decoration is subject to taste and there are plenty of other options - multiple pendants like the Muuto E27 pendants (bottom photo below) can be hung at varying heights and don’t cost the earth. Finally, adding in some 5amp sockets for complimentary table lamps and floor lamps will give your living space versatility. I hope this helps and look forward to seeing the final pictures! be careful you don't overload the circuit. nice idea having lots of bulbs but work out the amps / watts / volts on your ahem 'ring', I put that in quotes because most UK homes are indeed not 'ring' but in fact long spares connected by one 15 - 20 amp wire designed to run about 15 x 40watt bulbs. Consider a transformer running more low volt low amp options - like LEDs. there are plenty of types that match industrial retro bulb filaments. Also think about the safety of wiring. Most people don't realise that coiling wires and hanging things from metal can affect the current and earth regulations of 'lamps'. high current / fire / safe earthing eyebrows raising. The beauty of a bought option is it will probably have some form of certification and testing involved. We did something similar in an office and each tail connected on a single 12v transformer to an led bulb without an Inverter(cheaper longer lasting). Same effect much safer. It replaced the 'ever exploding bulb spider that was always making the dimmer switches melt option' that ran on 240v looked great, but wasn't really thought through.

Hello, it’s funny but warm cream shades fell out of favour when grey seemed to take over the world of decor for many years. I like a warm, buttery cream but I struggled to find images of it used with grey kitchen units. I managed to find this pic of a grey DeVol kitchen and cream walls. Love the way it’s teamed with wooden shelves. As to paint shades, I’ve used Dulux Ivory and Dulux Elderflower Tea in the past, as well as Almond White. Lovely warm neutrals. i also wondered whether changing the cupboard doors to something more to your taste may improve things? There are lots of companies that do this, and I noticed even B&Q sell just doors too. Just a suggestion.
