Grout help!
Comments (27)Thanks @whirligig, we used some pre-mixed grout and went over it all with a float, cleaning up the excess afterwards. Then once it had all dried, went round and scraped off any flecks etc. and polished it up. Good tip with the cling film @maplecottage! We haven't made anything too messy yet, so we'll see how we go. Might get some sealer spray as it looks fairly easy to apply....See MoreWhat colour grout to use for these tiled floors?
Comments (5)Hi Lucy, For a toilet floor a darker grey grout would be best to hide any stains or spills. However from your photo the base colour of the tile looks quite beige, so a coloured grout like the BAL Micromax2 in Lime would be a good option, this will keep a heritage look whilst being more practical than an off-white. If you'd like to test a few options, we offer grout sticks in our stores which you can take home and lay next to the tile in the actual light of your bathroom to help you decide and make sure it's a good match before purchasing....See MoreIdeas on grout colour for existing tiles please
Comments (3)I wonder if tile stickers may be an option? Now I’m not sure how hardwearing they are but they would update the look. I don’t think a different grout will make much difference to the overall check-aboard look....See MoreHelp with bathroom grout colour!
Comments (18)For what it's worth, I think it looks absolutely great as is. I think perhaps your worry is that the grout is somehow de-emphasising the gorgeous floor tile. I personally don't like an eye being drawn to the floor and the way it is now, does create a bit of tension, but good tension in my view. The wall tile with grey grout gives the room the urban edge I assume you were going for but then offset by that great floor. I like the eclectic aspect to it. Grout choice is always difficult, but if you went for white, I think it'd be a wash out. Don't forget the reason you opted against white in the first place! That reason is still there. :) I actually also like the white walls. Throw in an accent colour and a plant, boom!
