Need advice for carpet colour on my stairs please - 1930s traditional
Comments (43)hi all, update is I have finally found a photo of someones stairs done in Brintons timorous beastie yellow Ruskin butterfly and its made me decide we are definitely 100% going for this as I love it (see attached pics) on stairs and landing... Floor in hall will be oak herringbone parquet, just wall colour to decide and we have bought new tall skirting so colour to paint this also? i have attcahed apic of the hall currently so you can see our front door with stain glass.. As Ive mentioned before the banister and spindles will be replaces with square spindles with an oak top banister and oak end cap - similar to this houzz pic ... So just to deicide on wall colour and new skirting colour... I really like f&b light blue in a hall with oak parquet but I don't feel this will go with the carpet... Kitchen and dining room will be one of the sage shades and lounge Wimborne white and downpipe......See MoreHi everyone, advice please on bare wall? Maybe storage? Something atra
Comments (3)It looks as though you don't use the space currently because I see cat dishes where one would stand to access storage on the existing ledge. Shallow storage squares and/or rectangles would be a possibility, but access to them and keeping them and the contents dusted/wiped would be a chore. A large-scale light colored abstract wallpaper design might work to reflect light back into the room A dark one would absorb the light from the room. You could display children's art projects in this area....See MoreUpdating a small, white-tiled bathroom and colour advice please.
Comments (15)Sanitary ware. I'm having a crisis of decision making. I bought a new sink and vanity from IKEA: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/washstands-taps/wash-stands/fullen-t%C3%A4lleviken-wash-basin-cabinet-white-spr-39891444/ However, it's occurred to me since that it'll take up too much of the room/floorspace, especially as the sink faces you as you walk in. I've been looking at other designs, and the wall-hung sink with a nicer-looking chrome waste could be a much better option. Added to this, if I'm tiling the floor, I'll probably need to buy a new loo, and IKEA doesn't do matching loos. Therefore...where can I buy a basic loo/basin package? What's the difference between a 'toilet and basin' and a 'cloakroom suite'? Should I go for one or two tap holes? Am I wasting my money? Should I just update the taps on the existing sink and tile-box in the waste?...See MoreMedia Wall fireplace advice please
Comments (3)Hi Ranj, I don't know a lot about them but everything I have fitted for clients has had the 300mm to 360mm depth you have mentioned - here are two that say they are shallower depth but you would need to read through all the details and maybe discuss with a heating engineer to check it is not a standard dimension that needs to be around the fireplace itself. https://amantii.com/thin-fireplaces/ https://www.diy.com/departments/livingandhome-led-electric-wall-fireplace-9-flame-colours-with-freestanding-leg-black-70inch/0735940225403_BQ.prd?ds_rl=1272379&gclid=Cj0KCQjwio6XBhCMARIsAC0u9aGWILJA7jnUE84Crtsp0Y2FB-w011dqtYbGGbS9TXAvpLY2HbNNt0saArXZEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds I hope this helps and apologies I didn't know more :) Thanks, Gina...See MoreMarylee H
