I like it too . Perhaps painting it a less stark colour would help .

the rendering looks a bit pink in the picture - if it is I would suggest painting the door and canopy bit pink to really make it pop.

Paint the angled wall either side of the door in the same colour as the door - it will make the area appear wider and more in proportion to the rest of the house

I don't think the door is the problem. Your house has strong architectural features and it looks to me that they have not been favoured and an attempt has been made to minimise them by painting over the strong sills and soldier course of bricks above the window and door openings. The trellises look like an attempt to create mock window openings. I'd restore the features with contrasting colours and paint the door which I quite like. There are others with much better colour sense than me but I don't like the colour of the existing render.

I agree with Tim. But I will also say that I love your front door!!. In fact I love the look of the house! It’s so unusual but in a really good way! Some plant containers outside would, I think, look good too. :-)

I love the structure of the door surround but not the door itself. The small equally spaced windows make it seem busy, especially with the unused trellises distracting from it repetitively. I'd remove the trellises and see what happens next. Then I'd paint the door a different colour. I like the door bit if you don’t why not make a porch and then you would have a different look to the house

How old is the house?  Style of door and lintel over it remind me of Rennie   Mackintosh.

Looks better already. Would you consider painting the render? I know it’s a mammoth task as the house is pretty big, but painting over the render will freshen it up no end. A nice off white, or if you still want pink, then a softer, paler shade would look nice.

We quite like the door! Your house kind of reminds us of an arts and crafts style.

There are companies that can do a good job of spray painting upvc windows in situ which could bring a new door and the windows together quite nice. We think a sage green!
